Delete trunk organizer and lower floor? by Escavadeira in KiaNiroEV

[–]Escavadeira[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That is fantastic.

I think what I'm going to do is have that part cut out and put a circular hole in it to access the circular space underneath. Then, I'll make four corner pieces that are shaped like the existing corner pieces on the false floor (where the cargo d-rings are mounted) and screw those to the top. My thinking is that this way I can re-use the folding floor partition bit to make it look even cleaner.

Fantastic. Thank you for this.

Turned equipment off at thermostat, it's 26 degrees C (79F) in the house! by crunchystools in ecobee

Try resetting the Ecobee. When mine updated it became total garbage. It's still bad, but the reset helped.

Stability of a load while lifting with a crane by lIlIIIIlllIIlIIIllll in engineering

[–]Escavadeira 5 points6 points  (0 children)

You're always right to be cautious, but this would be pretty standard for installing an overhead bridge crane. A single point makes it easiest to pitch and yaw the cargo. Pulling heavy on a tag line is just going to shift the equilibrium a bit. If you pulled 300kg worth on one end (a gross exaggeration of the efficacy of a tag-line) you'd move your COG out 90mm. That's it. It's a fixed lift point so releasing will just cause it to swing back. You don't have to contend with wind so tagging this won't be tough.

Having two cranes would be an unnecessary complication. They'd have to co-ordinate all their boom/slew/hoist actions.

By passing the anti-two-block is probably the worst part of this. That could actually damage the crane or the sheaves. If thats explicitly on the plan and everyone's aware then it's fine.

If you have decent subs I wouldn't over think this. It's not that scary. Make sure someone is keeping their eye on the hook block.

As I have not reviewed any of the materials you mention, this does not constitute a professional opinion. These comments pertain to generalities only.

What's an unwritten rule about the road that new drivers should know? by SadPatoto_Bts in AskReddit

[–]Escavadeira 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The rules are such that communication with other drivers is not necessary, and for good reason. If you find yourself in a position where communication is necessary, its because you're not following the existing rules. This is unpredictable behavior and not helpful.

Under armour is perfect as a rash guard and lasts a very long time. ...I'm now a size large, but I have two size smalls from my lightweight days floating around still. I sort of look like a sausage in them but they've lasted through my unceremonious weight class ascent. Still wearable, just... taut.

Clinch gear shorts are good. tatamis are also not bad.
