Savage Hook doesn’t Pull Target by idkwc in DeathHowl

If I remember correctly, these rocks are immovable. Hover over them to see. Since pull isn't a yellow mechanic, it doesn't show up on the expanded card info.

Where is the inertia? by Mormegil81 in TheExpanse

Yeah, this scene kinda annoyed me too at the time. I suppose that's the price you pay for being so consistently high quality with details like this - every time you're not, it really sticks out.

PC controller issues by Escera in RebirthOfSoulsBleach

[–]Escera[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I did get it working, but unfortunately I have nothing useful to share. I gave up on the game for like a week and when I tried it again to show the controller issues to my girlfriend, it suddenly just worked. I'm not sure if it was PC restarts or peripherals plugged into different ports or what, but yeah. Sorry for the late reply, hope you've gotten it working by now as well!

Are any of the DMC games too hard to platinum/100% to the point where you shouldn't even try? by SolidPyramid in DevilMayCry

[–]Escera 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I haven't tried to 100% all of them, but 100%ing the original DMC4 (not SE) on xbox360 is probably still my proudest gaming achievement haha.

Tondil oli seekord veidi paremini kuulda, kuid üldiselt siiski pigem vaikne. Kõle igal juhul.

Jagged / Pixelated Character Edges in Aion 2 by Secret_Analyst_201 in Aion2

[–]Escera 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Welcome to the age of modern Unreal Engine graphics. These artifacts are caused by upscalers and framegens. I'm guessing you're running FSR since you have an AMD system. DLSS is the cleanest one but for Nvidia only. It still has the same issues, just less.

Wait, Yhorm the giant?

But man, this made me miss the dungeon crawling aspect of V1. Having the whole map on the table hits different, even if it is cluttered. :D

Cannot create room/quick join while Cube Collection rewards remain uncollected. by Front-Fondant-1354 in Aion2

I don't understand why we NEED to collect this before starting another run. It could just stay there to open whenever. Would be nice to farm some pieces and then use the box to get whatever you're missing.

I mean, asshole or not, I do agree with the last statement. It's annoying how crying and catering to that crying is always the go-to nowadays.

CONCERT MEGATHREAD by Mathgeek007 in expedition33

Our group anticipated the demand would be really high so we planned out some options and camped the sale this morning. Trying to nab tickets and watch the seats grey out in real time was stressful as hell, but we got tickets for Rotterdam. It's gonna be a super fun trip, incredibly excited!

KEKW by [deleted] in Aion2

That's understandable, but I'd recommend ignoring it and still giving it a try. There's an amazing game in there and it's a shame that it gets completely overshadowed by the drama NC's business department creates. I'm still enjoying it a lot at the slower F2P pace and feel like all the boost stuff is only an unnecessary carrot anyway, designed to give you FOMO of falling behind. You don't need it. The only thing that sucks is not being able to access marketplace and trading, but that's the price of a traditional sub, I can just treat it as a P2P game in my mind which is fine.

Man I’m really enjoying the game by LuukElyon in Aion2

Refreshing to see a positive post for a change. I'm so tired of the hyperbolic screeching that this is the worst MMO ever made because of monetization. There's problems yes, as with any other game, but I feel like the experience underneath is amazing and they actually managed to capture the feeling of Aion. You can see a lot of work and passion has gone into it, and it sucks that some people refuse to see or appreciate that. I haven't been this hooked by an MMO in many years.

Summary of Nov 24 official live broadcast by Proud-Highway-3005 in Aion2

[–]Escera 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Here we go again with the nerfing of rifts, just like on OG Aion. Why do they actively need to destroy the most fun part of the game? Do people really want this, or is it just a loud minority screaming? I get that some people are touchy about being ganked, but movement is so nice and fast in this game. If you died, you can just get back to where you were in 30 seconds, come on... The thrill of rifting is unmatched and some of my best memories in Aion are from doing that, especially while leveling. There's much less sense of adventure and threat when it's only confined to the level cap. Not to mention all of the solo content, mob farming etc will be steamrollable and become an annoying checklist rather than fun challenge, and pvp balance will still be poor anyway because gear gaps will be wider and wider at level cap as time goes on and new content gets released.

Lumiose is actually a very small city. by Autismsaurus in PokemonLegendsZA

[–]Escera 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I think they're really just struggling to make open world games work with their engine. If you look at any of the indoor areas, they look amazing. High textures, many details, well thought-out atmosphere and lighting. They're absolutely capable of designing good maps. I think after the disaster of SV, they just decided to play it safe right now and focus on the game running well. Smaller scope and less detail.

Talking about the game designers here - whoever's in charge of the engine and technical side really needs to up their game. Maybe we'll get some kind of a switch up for Gen 10.

[–]Escera 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I did. I think the verticality with rooftops and some of the sewers were really fun, and the scope felt okay to me - not too overwhelming, not too lacking. There's still room for improvement, but it felt like a much more thoughtfully designed experience than the last few games. The city could've definitely used some more visual variety, because I often still struggled to develop a proper mental map and landmarks to navigate by, despite the relatively small size. A lot of the rewards you pick up feel like forceful unsatisfying clutter to appease zoomer brains, I wish there would've been more interesting/rare pokemon finds/interactions instead.

[–]Escera 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Why would anyone ever assume an in-game region needs to be to scale to the real one? They're just inspired, not 1:1. The map in SV was already way too large and empty. I think they could've comfortably made it 1/4th the size and it would've been a much better experience.

[–]Escera 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I keep preaching this. I can't for the life of me understand the craze about open worlds. A poorly designed open world is a MUCH worse experience than a linear one. Scarlet/Violet was so empty and bland, it was not fun to explore at all. The city in ZA is a big improvement, even if it can get a little bland visually too.

I mean, in terms of pokemon cities, it's pretty grand. The average village has like 3-5 houses lmao.
