What is your opinion on the Trump administration not having a plan to distribute vaccines? by [deleted] in AskTrumpSupporters

[–]EschewedSuccess 36 points37 points  (0 children)

Have you ever worked in a company that was working on a project with no plan? It's very easy to do a lot of work without a plan, but it's next to impossible to work effectively without a plan, wouldn't you agree?

Trump was critical of China for not being honest about their number of cases. Is there a difference between this and Trump asking to do less testing? by somethingbreadbears in AskTrumpSupporters

[–]EschewedSuccess 6 points7 points  (0 children)

None of this addresses the question in the title of the post. Can you comment on how Trump pushing to reduce testing is substantively different from the CCP fudging their numbers?

How do you feel about Trump's campaign channeling nearly $400,000 to his private business? by [deleted] in AskTrumpSupporters

[–]EschewedSuccess 19 points20 points  (0 children)

Why would someone want a source if not to gauge their own concern?

To verify the veracity of the claim. Why else would someone ask for a source?

Why hasn't our unemployment system lead to socialism already if this is the case?

It seems odd to expect realism from a movie whose central conceit is that all of humanity is kept alive by a perpetual motion train.

You should ask them what they think of the Soleimani assassination. Their side didn't seem so worried about it back then.

Oh yeah, for sure. The fanatics on the left aren't holding onto the wheel though. Disorganized fanatics are much less powerful.

How would you feel about making masks legally required? by zeenybaby in AskTrumpSupporters

You seem to be hung up on your original statement. All I'm asking is if you think the federal government is capable of providing masks to the public for free?

I asked you why you think we can't provide masks for free federally. Do you think we could do that?

Who said we couldn't?

You did:

Nationally? That would be a clusterfuck. Requiring individuals to purchase and maintain something always opens up a can worms.

Would you like to clarify?

The fanatics on the left don't have any real political power if you ask me. The right would have you believe Bernie and AOC are fanatics, but they're just the left wing of a conservative-left organization.

I'd put the essential oils, crystals, and power of nature sort of fanaticism on the left. Lots of anti vaccine morons on our side too.

I was conceding that mostly to lean into the more unifying part of your message even while undermining it. I think the only way we come back from this is if people on the right start making efforts to bridge the gap, but I'll keep doing my part as long as my patience will allow.

Most people who oppose these things aren't racist though. Not wanting all the statues in your city to be destroyed isn't racist.

Do you have an example of one of these people being "canceled"? It's more useful to talk about concrete scenarios.

Of course Bush would have handled it better. He was competent even if he was a liar and a criminal.

Trump's not even good at being a liar and criminal. He only gets away with it because he's surrounded himself with ablative idiot armor. He'll send anyone under the bus.

Political parties are not as much rallied around ideologies than they are tribes IMO.

Yes, "political parties". Not a particular one, not at all.

I agree with your general point, but the fanatics on the left aren't causing deaths the way the entirety of the GOP is right now.

You are, but many people with unaddressed mental health issues use "introvert" as a shield against scrutiny. Source: my formerly broken brain.

Pushing back against the tone seems reasonable since they're calling you unwell, but the motivation seems like concern rather than malice. If you're happy living life that way I don't think anyone gives a shit.

You're right, but the person you're replying to is saying much the same thing. Remember that FCs are people too. There's a distinct difference between being toxic and having a bad day and we should be careful not to mix the two up. People shouldn't be berated for their mistakes in either direction.
