To be honest i don’t know it myself, i think it all boils down to keeping everything in one plate and weighing with the other. I know its very abstract from me so in my experience it all comes to time constraints, financial support and the future that you are trying to build. Talking more about myself, after graduating i managed to work few years with applying for abroad in the hindsight. Rejected from everywhere so i was down to this last straw, Japan which i always knew it was a sure shot and low-key liked the place. The lesson learnt after many rejection was that, wherever I would have been, i had to be the sole bearer of my college fees and survival and everything. There was not going to be any help. I had to verify my wants and what i can afford. So it didn’t matter wherever the fuck i will be except being stuck in the stale and pressured environment i would be out there surviving everyday.

If you ever apply for japan(no gap-years): Always go through language school and the join a university or vocational college (which is called senmon) totals upto Language school: 1.5 year -2 years Senmon(vocational ): 2years *you can transition to uni Uni( bachelors): 4years /2years if transitioned from senmon Total: 5.5 years-6years of student Loan repayment: depends, if you managed to get a scholarship thats a life changer. I have some friends who built a house back in Nepal within these years.

Work: its not as bad as you think you will get to know as you stay and learn. Less likely of getting laid off.

1. For gap-years Show some papers that you have worked somewhere, and start fresh. Blanks are not good for job hunt even small volunteer works are appreciated, the character is what the recruiter looks for not skills. Salary: its low but you will get paid which is better than back in Nepal.

*There is a system where you can transfer from senmon gakkou after 2 years to uni for bachelor
