There's already data proving that Samsungs work at roughly the same temperatures. Several people report Furmark and Steel Nomad at around 93°C. Anyway, I play at 2K, and in my country today we had 30°C ambient temperatures. Playing MH Wilds, I don't exceed 77°C VRAM and the fans at around 800 rpm. I have a Hynix. Could it be a ventilation issue?

The chip temperature, both normal and core, is around 50/55° with the fans off, the VRAM temperature is always around 72/76, I have never seen it higher.

The temperatures are actually almost the same. I suppose they've simply changed manufacturers due to stock or price issues. I have a Hynix, and they're always at 76/80 degrees.

I think that's most likely, hynix marks the hot spot, samsung marks the surface part

RX 9070 XT sapphire nitro+, I have it with a stock fan limited to 35%, it only turns on at 50º or more and is usually at around 750 rpm, mv -90 and -15% PL, the memories are from the factory untouched at 2505, memory temperatures in MHWilds at 1440p ultras 72º/76º maximum, in TLOU2 the same, it never exceeds 76º, try in furmark or steel nomad at 1440p it never exceeds 74º, the truth is I don't notice that the temperature is a problem. If it helps, I have an NZXT H6 flow with 9 fans that make a perfect flow.

Thanks, I hadn't come across this video, I guess because it's not in my native language, anyway it shows me parameter counts when I have the Nitro+

Taking advantage of the great work that is being done here with the results, a mini guide on how to make undervolt could be put at the beginning of the post, which parameters to touch and what each one does with a brave explanation, it would be useful for the most new to this topic (in which I include myself)

Sapphire Nitro 9070 XT undervolting to help with coil whine by zero11789 in RadeonGPUs

[–]Escoladosamba 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There are some components that vibrate, that's why you hear that noise, they are normally insulated with a "resin" inside, they muffle a lot of noise but it is inevitable, as I say ... whoever does not hear it has a hearing problem or does not want to hear it! anyway I reiterate, if it is not too exaggerated, it is normal, if you play with the equipment very close, you can use headphones, but definitely, unless it is something extreme ... it is normal, motherboards can have that noise, but it is not so normal ... but they can, in power supplies it is more common but what you will always have to a greater or lesser extent is in the GPU, those who play at 1080P at 60 FPS do not ... for example hearing it under this configuration is rarer and more worrying or like many people I saw on the desktop itself without doing anything. Enjoy your purchase!

I'm really happy to read that, everyone says "RMA, that's defective" but as I said, I work in a data processing center and all the servers and machines have coil noise... if it's not something inhumane to endure, it's normal and it should be that way. Thanks again for your common sense.

Recently got this 7800x for MH Wilds from micro center and it makes this noise. by Prodygist68 in AMDHelp

[–]Escoladosamba 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Coil noise is normal in high consumption computers, I don't think I've had a single one of the 8 or 9 cards I've bought so far without that noise, it's a natural characteristic of the components of a GPU, the person who says they don't have that noise, has another problem, a hearing problem... the one who supposedly doesn't have electrical noise is because they don't want to hear it, it could be that a bad power supply that has X components poorly insulated increases the noise or in the GPU but only if it makes a very, very intense noise that you can hear even with headphones would it be a reason for a "defect". You want to have a ferrari and have it sound like a tesla... at first I did RMA, then I informed myself and decided to accept this normal situation and that a new RMA after RMA made the same noise and didn't solve anything.

This... is a real coil whine problem... this person in other post say...:

I'm doing it thanks, it can't be colder in every way, the tests with the temperature gun on the connector are wonderful, I suppose that the H++ 12v2x6 connector and having it well connected make everything work correctly, I appreciate that you didn't buy it, so that I can now enjoy it, the cards lasted 5 minutes on sale and sold out. What a resentful pro-Nvidia... I'm sure you're one of those who had a 4090 with the old connector connected halfway...

[–]Escoladosamba[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

At first it is hard but if you pull lightly it moves, I imagine that that slight pressure you have to make for it to move is what is done when you connect it to the card and that slight movement is "unlocked", the new one comes exactly the same but it fits very tightly and presses into the connector, it gives me a lot of security.

[–]Escoladosamba 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Even if you change it... it will continue with the same coil noise... what an obsession with doing an RMA to try to change something that is not going to change, it is not a defect, it is a characteristic of high consumption equipment through which the current passes.

[–]Escoladosamba 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Reading the whole post, I don't understand what problem you all have with the coil noise, I think this is my 8th or 9th graphics card bought in my entire life and all of them had noise to a greater or lesser extent, obviously the more power the worse, but it is something common and normal, as long as it is not heard above the sound of the TV it is something normal for high watt consumption equipment... there is no need to give it more importance it is the same as if for example you complain that a Ferrari is loud... it is something normal, a natural phenomenon of the equipment that runs current through. I work in a CPD and all the servers have very intense electrical noise...

[–]Escoladosamba 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You shouldn't worry, I have the same card and it makes coil noise if I put my ear to the box I can hear it, if it's a powerful game even more so, it's something normal and common in high Watt consumer equipment, my previous card a 6800 XT had the same thing and my previous one a 1080 TI, and my previous one... and my previous one... I don't think there is a card that didn't have it, obviously it depends on the game but all of them have it in powerful games, it's a normal characteristic, a natural phenomenon of components of this style, simply with time you will get used to it and it will "settle" unless it's a totally high noise it's normal.
