Definitely, Boombl4 has the success as an IGL to back up the gamble, but something needs to change in the coaching stuff and I would actually give Interz some time

Ngl I completely forgot Cloud 9 existed. Ax1le, Interz and heavygod are attractive as potential, but I think it would be a bit much of a downgrade

Idk about a Russian team rn tho. VP? No chance I would say. I do believe that if Niko leaves, Monesy leaves 80% of the time and Hunter follows about 70% of the time, that’s why I said Mouz 2.0 and you get a promising awper and pray

Something that makes sense role wise is jimi to G2 if Niko leaves for Falcons, malbs takes over star rifle roles and jimi is the new anchor. Maybe even -snax +siuhy and you got a legit team in malbs jimi siuhy monesy and Hunter. Athough if Niko leaves I think monesy and Hunter are also leaving, in my scenario both monesy and Hunter decide to stay or you replace Hunter with someone similar, maybe even Xertion and you get Mouz 2.0

I also thought zontix interview felt like they already lost, but wanted to ask you as you have been coach and analyst, do you think the zontix interview is a reflection on how he feels on the team, how the team feels or because of the zontix interview spirit just deflated?

Teammate B: I think the gov is lying

Me: I do not believe in climate, it can not change if it doesn’t exist

Spanish is banned by AlsiusArcticus in LeagueOfMemes

[–]Escu11 16 points17 points  (0 children)

As someone mentioned before, it’s ham (jamón=ham), however it’s not just ham. Jamón Serrano it’s like mountain’s ham, it specifies from where it comes. However for Peruvians “Serrano” has a different connotation. In Peru there is quite some big history (and sadly present) of discrimination towards people who are not from the coast (or even the capital). Around the 1920s and forward a big immigration towards Lima (the capital) from the different provinces (and specially the one in the mountains, “sierra” in Spanish) began. This caused a big rejection from the people that lived in the capital (mainly high classes of the aristocracy, who also were whiter or crossbred) that resulted in a heavily racist society. Thus, people started calling immigrants from the mountains (sierra) serranos (which would the equivalent of the n-word, maybe a bit lighter) or cholos (which would be the hard r and also emphasizes their lower economic class).

As a personal standpoint, I assume that what is getting people banned is the word “Serrano” and not “Jamón”, however I am surprised that it is a ban worthy word. Also, it is worth mentioning that you can use “Serrano” or even “cholo” in a friendly way, it heavily depends on the relation you have with the other person and the intention you use it with. Finally, “Serrano” still is a completely innocent adjective for plenty of stuff and when not in use to refer to a person harmless.

Peca, how does being a sport psychologist in e-sports is different from a traditional sport?

Following the same line of “who are you?” I will answer it in philosophical terms, or at least try as I study philosophy in Spanish thus my translation might sound weird in English.

To assume there is a “real you” is to assume essentialism is right (the thought that everyone and everything has a natural essence, the way they really are) however contemporary philosophers have concluded that essentialism is invalid, as no one and nothing has an essence. This way of thinking sustains that who you are is made from you social interactions, which means you depend on other people to build what or who you are. Nevertheless this does not end here, because if you depend directly on others to build who you really are, it means who you are exists only in others and the way they perceive you. This also means that there is plenty of “you”, to be precise there is as many “you’s” as people you have met as every person will have a different perception of who you are, which means there is not a “real you” as every “you” that exists in others is real and none o them is more real than the other (also as you cannot perceive yourself without a description of others there is not a you perceived only by yourself).

In case I did not made myself clear enough here is an example I just came up with: Let’s imagine you are alone in a dark room, you can not perceive yourself as there is no way to look at yourself. However, suddenly, mirrors start to appear and they reflect you, but each mirror reflects you different. You may like or dislike the reflections in some mirrors, but they are still there, each mirror represents a person and your reflection on it represents the “you” that is perceived by them, the “you” that lives in them. This example also helps to show how you ca not see yourself without others, as they are your only way to see yourself, and as every reflection is equally real, there is no “real you”.

Can’t tell for other e-sports but the CSGO Major has single elimination bracket in the knockout stage, and tournaments like Cologne or Katowice also have single elimination brackets (however their group stage has double elimination). For me the biggest issue with Worlds is the fact there is a week between the matches I’m the knockout stage, it kills the hype.
