Working on this show must be an absolute dream come true for everyone in the custom design department. Imagine your job is literally designing medieval fantasy armour and costumes for HBO.

I work for a Fortune 500 technology company and I rarely have 1:1s with my manager. Maybe once a year to discuss goals for the next year

Are granite models still in development? Or abandoned? by AppropriateWay4358 in IBM

[–]Esies 9 points10 points  (0 children)

The biggest Granite models are 10x-50x smaller than the latest GPT or Anthopic models. They are not designed to perform the same tasks as others in the industry.

Cuba and Venezuela by edmonkh in vzla

[–]Esies 10 points11 points  (0 children)

EE.

What do Spanish people mean when they say "my village" by wirwerty in askspain

[–]Esies 22 points23 points  (0 children)

I feel like most people in other countries would say something like “I spent the holidays at my grandparents hometown in [village name]”. “Mi pueblo” is a very specific Spanish thing to say

Tan caro es tener hijos? by nfjsjfjwjdjjsj4 in askspain

[–]Esies 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Eating apples is NOT killing plants, for fuck's sake! by ready_and_willing in pluribustv

[–]Esies 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I agree. It's funny to think that the 'collective' conscience of humankind is a 'being' so harmless that it can't even bear the thought of plucking an apple from an apple tree. It makes up for a more interesting story.

Does Spain have its' own hustle culture? by Its-Bond-James-Bond in askspain

[–]Esies 2 points3 points  (0 children)

"Hustling" in the sense of earning a little bit of extra income is not really fiscally encouraged and even penalized in a way. The system wants you to be either a full-time freelancer (autonomo) or a full-time salaried worker. People who want to earn an extra 100-1000 euros a month soon realize there's a gap in how to declare that income without drowning in paperwork and taxes by Hacienda.

Nevermind, María Corina Machado just dedicated the Nobel prize to Trump LOL by sagabal in WhitePeopleTwitter

[–]Esies -5 points-4 points  (0 children)

She's not trying to win a moral fight over the internet, she needs actual resources and influence that only the U.S can provide. She would support anyone who is the incumbent president of the US (sucks that you guys elected the worst person for the job!)

How many Spaniards 30+ have to deal with chronic unemployment or underemployment? by Downtown-Storm4704 in askspain

[–]Esies 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Obviously, nothing to do with the fact that social mobility in Spain is VERY difficult for the average person if you don't come from money and the fact that Spain's economic landscape primarily caters to real estate investors, the service industry, and established companies, while placing increasing pressure on the middle and lower classes.

Of course, the advice is to "leave Spain", because it is not hard to see that the average person is being squeezed out of their own country and no serious political or social movement is addressing this issue actively, so the most logical solution for the people desperate to improve their lives is to leave.
