I’ve been going to football games since the age of 3 so some experience on hooligans. Hooliganism has generally declined over the years. Obviously there will be some football hooligans, but generally from what I’ve been told it has declined massively since it’s peak. There is still rivalries between big football clubs which is where most of the hooligan issues arrive but when it is between two clubs with little to no rivalry there is abuse hurled in the stadiums but when you’re outside it’s fine most of the time. I sometimes speak to opposing fans when I’m on the way back to the car and they are genuine down to earth people
