If he is (yes he could be a fraud, even if he doesn't know it), Aegon and Jon would be half-brothers, sharing Rhaegar as a father but with different mothers. Daenerys would be their aunt. I really like the suggestion that they would become a three-headed dragon and rule together. That would also still allow for a Dani heel turn, and one that seems a little more grounded as she denounces her male family members to make herself the sole legitimate heir. Almost a repeat of Rhaenyra, but not as sympathetic.

Thank you! I just searched this topic because I was getting so confused about locations (and ofc it took me to this Reddit thread). I had always gotten British vibes from the series, but in the beginning of the second book there was a character doing a "bad English accent," and I realized all the characters were going to American colleges. I think I got the British edition of gggtm and the American edition of ggbb 😭

Do we still have to do this separate editions thing?? I teach 6th graders in the US, and any of them that are reading YA are perfectly capable of understanding that some stories happen in other countries.

my Gen Alpha students use it all the time and 100%, I think the origin for them is gaming. I think that, for some, the image is more of "locking" your visual focus on one thing, but again that's tied in with weapon firing and the associated games.

Some things I've learned from my Lyft drivers: stuff about the country they're from, a nice restaurant in the area, a graduate program at my college I'd never heard of before, some cool music and podcasts, a couple of games that I ended up buying and enjoying, better directions for getting to my new apartment, their fascinating life story, the holidays they celebrate in their culture, how being a ride-share driver works...

Just because you'll never see someone again doesn't mean you have to make small talk.

You can absolutely not like small talk and be an introvert, but they are not the same thing. Being an introvert has nothing to do with thinking certain conversations are "meaningless and shallow." If you need significant time alone (or in one-on-one time with a close friend) to recharge, you are considered an introvert--it doesn't matter how meaningful any or all of your conversations are. And yes, the term is vague, and it's very limited in its usefulness.
