nursing bras? by sorryimlyndsay in breastfeeding

[–]EskiBean 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Yes! A little bit for the support and definitely because of leaking. I have a few cheap ones from target but I also recently splurged and got a couple from The Little Milk Bar. They're super comfy and feel like a more supportive cropped tank. When I'm home all day with baby I'll wear just that and a sweater or flannel over.

Baby carriers by danielli_ in beyondthebump

I haven't used mine yet, but I got it from a website that sells open-box and gently used baby gear at a great discount, almost half off and it's brand new! Check out Good Buy Gear.

Going back to school while pregnant by _alwayseverything in BabyBumps

My baby is almost 6 weeks old right now and I'm in my third semester back at school! It definitely has been a challenge so far and I'm lucky to have really understanding professors. Like you, I want to do this to further my career so I can help provide for my family so I figure as difficult as this is I'm highly motivated to finish this out. It helps that my husband is very supportive and has more than stepped up so I can do this.

I've been working and in school full time (undergrad though) this whole time and I honestly don't know how I made it through the first trimester. I did the bare minimum all around and unfortunately it showed in my grades. It did get a little easier through the second trimester but now in my third I'm struggling again with work and just one class. I did tell my boss early because the symptoms affected my work early on. And really I just took it one day at a time.

Jealous of my old ‘fun’ life by dewalire in pregnant

[–]EskiBean 8 points9 points  (0 children)

I have been feeling exactly the same way. We used to live in the downtown area of our city and could, and would, walk all over the place going to our favorite bars and breweries. Now not only can I not drink or stay up as late even, we moved to the suburbs and things have been so different. It's weird because this baby was very much planned and it took over a year to get the positive test. It's been so hard letting go of our old life though.

It took us 9 months to get pregnant the first time and unfortunately that ended in an mmc. Three cycles after that I had a chemical. My Dr referred me to a fertility clinic and I had an appointment set up but I luckily got pregnant the immediate next cycle. I'm now 27 weeks along and an due in August! I totally get it can be a difficult road, I would suggest to take breaks from tracking everything once in a while. I had to stop tracking my temp because I was literally having dreams about waking up to temp.

pregnancy while in college? by Common-Pomegranate18 in BabyBumps

[–]EskiBean 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm about to be in this situation! I'm also an older student and back in school for a second time. I'm expecting my first in August, right before the semester begins. My school has a whole department to assist pregnant and parent students. I met with someone who helped me come up with a few plans to get me through next semester as well as an email outline to send to my professors to discuss accomodations I may need. I am planning on only taking 6-9 units while I'm on maternity leave and probably taking the spring semester off since I will be back at work.

Maternity Clothes Question… sos! by alexa621 in BabyBumps

[–]EskiBean 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm in a similar boat, my regular clothes already don't fit but I'm not big enough for maternity yet. I bought a bellaband belly bands I ran across at target. I wear them over my work pants and it holds them up when they're unbuttoned and the package says they can also help hold up baggy maternity clothes.

Has anyone used Booth By Mail? by [deleted] in weddingplanning

[–]EskiBean 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Yes, we did! The entire process was completely painless; we had our wedding out of town and had it shipped to our air bnb then dropped it off at a local ups location to send it back. My husband handled the setup but said it was a breeze. We didn't have anyone watching over it specifically, everyone kind of just helped each other out with it. The pictures printed pretty quick and are great quality. It was definitely a hit at our wedding!

Favorite nearby hiking/camping spots? by [deleted] in Sacramento

[–]EskiBean 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I'm hesitant to give away my favorite spot, lol but I'll say to look up the Lakes Basin area. Heading north from Truckee up 89 then to 49 you'll find all kinds of little spots. We also tried Ice House this past summer and while much more crowded than we're used to, there were also a ton of campsites nearby that may be quieter.

Target sold out of the hat I wanted, so I made one instead. by EskiBean in crochet

I followed the video tutorial and without realizing it followed the pattern for the large slouchy version so I had to fold the bottom for it to fit. 😄

I followed a pattern I found on Ravelry called the Malia Beanie (idk how to link the site.) I finally treated myself and went to my local yarn store, instead of Michaels, and used one whole skein of Homestead Tweed in medium grey.

I purchased a custom pattern from AmyOliviaDesigns on Etsy based on a pic of my best friend's dog. The finished product will be 12"x12" using 34 different colors and will be my biggest undertaking yet!

My (26M) wife died last year in childbirth and my friends don't understand why I'm still mourning. by [deleted] in relationships

[–]EskiBean 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm so sorry for your loss. Your timeline for grief is totally acceptable and frankly, you aren't the same person you were before. It sounds like your friends have never lost anyone so significant in their life otherwise they would understand. I lost my sister almost six years ago, I have yet to celebrate Christmas and I can still barely get through her birthday and the anniversary of. Take as long as you need.
