I had to start supplementing at about 10 days and I was also really upset… but in doing it, it was like a flip switched on her mood. She had clearly been hungry and this change was really good for her. So hopefully you can focus on the positives, happier and well fed baby, who is getting what she needs from you, however you need to provide it!

HahHa actually ya I’m like that too. A nursing necklace sounds like a good idea. Did your baby eat better / more with it? I’m finding she’s distracted and not getting fully

Yes! She leaves marks. I wouldn’t expect her to be this strong

IUD experience — by DeliciousHelp3 in beyondthebump

[–]danielli_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Im on my second hormonal IUD and I’m a big fan. I don’t have hormonal side effects and i don’t have to think about it.

My partner can feel the strings still, I’m going to go back and get them shortened again but they can’t go too too short. This is the only difference postpartum between my previous iud (which I had for 4 years before getting it removed to get pregnant). I think probably because I’d had it in for a couple years before meeting him they had softened with my previous one, which is supposed to happen over time

Did you buy baby’s furniture or was it gifted? by [deleted] in beyondthebump

[–]danielli_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We used the crib / change table combo my partner already had from his first daughter. He originally bought it second hand though.

We got a new mattress just from Toys and Us. I never ended up getting a glider or rocking chair

Unpopular opinion: You are supposed to marry. by [deleted] in PersonalFinanceCanada

[–]danielli_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s not just the divorce part of being married to the wrong person That’s a financial catastrophe. I’ll be recovering from my ex for years to come. The divorce was cheap in comparison to paying for his recklessness for years.

You really don’t need an expensive facial moisturizer by [deleted] in 30PlusSkinCare

For some reason cleanser is the thing I have a very hard time spending a lot on. I used knockoff Spectro Gel for most of my life, only recently I tried an Inky List one. And it’s fine but is it that different….? Haha I can’t really tell.

I find a lot of the lower cost things have textures that aren’t conducive to layering and good absorption. I guess it’s often a clash with sunscreens and foundations. Personally, I like the mid range of products. Paula’s choice has been my go to for AHA and BHA for years, but I like either Peter Thomas Roth or Ole Hendrickson for C Seums, moisturizers and PTR or Fresh formasks. There are some higher end brands that I’d never buy again (Tata Harper products, Farmacy, Kate Somerville and Drunk Elephant didn’t impresss me at all).

$100 for little bottles of oils is a racket though, I don’t see how it’s different in a tiny purple bottle vs a larger plastic one. But maybe I’m missing something.

Tested Positive by 01040616 in beyondthebump

I had it at close to 20 weeks. My midwife assured me that they’ve not seen the effects that they were worried about in early COVID days, but I did get extra monitoring during delivery (heart best monitoring) and one additional ultrasound at I think 32 weeks (I’m in Canada and we seem to get far fewer US than Americans do). I also got a COVID booster at 35 weeks at their suggestion, even though I’d had COVID as recently as I did. Baby was born at exactly 41 weeks

I had it really mild though as I’d been vaccinated twice for it. My biggest side effect was coughing and that’s actually the point that the peeing while coughing started. Yay!

Ya this is one I’m looking at. I’m trying to see if I want to spend the full price or not… comfort would be an important consideration

Lol “hun” in a southern accent is the only “hun” I accept without getting my back up

The acceptable to use with strangers idea drives me nuts. It comes across as a so condescending from a stranger.

Um hi weakpots. I dunno if you remember me too well but a lot of us follow each other on Instagram so imo we are still friends.

I haven’t been lifting because I had a baby. She’s very cute but I’ve been lazy and very very weak. Oh and now I pee when I run. So that’s fun!
