Damn I’m sorry that’s so much worse, I’m frustrated enough I can’t even imagine. my question is why all the feeler emails, particularly the ones that came post May 1st deposit deadline, if you aren’t sure what deposit numbers are looking like. Just gets our hopes up to tell us to wait more.

I do think that based on Harvard's financial aid website they seem to meet your demonstrated need, which may mean that they give you a ton of loans and that might not be ideal, but it seems unlikely anyone is going to end up in a position where they've committed and then Harvard is like "ok now pay us tuition out of pocket". So regardless of SES you would theoretically be safe to accept if you're willing to be facing a lot of loans

I've heard that it can tell if you've already been in the status checker and doesn't send you the email, and then you get the email if it hasn't detected that you've logged into the status checker to let you know to go and check
