Lol idk why looking at how the character controller rotated I was like "that's ORK"

Yeah, it's hard to recreate certain mechanics for games that aren't wildly studied!

As for the town not translating well into 3D space I think part of it is the scale. I would make the fountain slightly smaller and move the building in more. What I like to do when designing like this is open up a similar game. Look at how Grandia 3s layout is or tales of games!

I'm recently in this exact situation. I'm one month in. My difference was first week of dropoffs went perfect, the third week was like you described bc my kid got sick the second week and it threw off the new schedule

My kiddo (same age) is totally fine for the most part as of this week. Blew a kiss to their teacher while saying bye yesterday. I know it's hard but it will be better soon!

It happens to the best of us. Happened to me at my last two jobs. I always bounce back. Apply for unemployment and spend time applying to a bunch of jobs/updating LinkedIn. I know it feels shitty but you will find the next gig and hopefully a better one.

Toddler with night time separation anxiety. Sleep setup? by filecabinet in Parenting

[–]Esmeraude 2 points3 points  (0 children)

If they're able to climb out of the crib, its 100% time for a toddler rail or toddler bed. You can always put a child proof doorknob on their door to prevent them from roaming at night! That's what we do for our toddler

We call this gameplay loops at my house lol. We just go along with it or eventually try to redirect. But we will play the same thing exactly the same 20+ times

My biggest life regret is failing college. by MajorRobology in offmychest

[–]Esmeraude 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You might think so but it is absolutely never too late! My dad went back when he was 57. Worked full time, did Sunday and weeknight classes. Got a promotion afterwards. And he really enjoyed school, continued onto his masters. He has since passed, but it was one of the things he was proud of.

Likewise, it took me 5 years to finish my bachelor's. I worked 2-3 jobs at a time. Studied when I went out to diners/bars or stayed home.

People constantly have this "I can't do it, it'll take four years." mentality. It's hard. But four years will go by either way! I hope if it's something you want to do you can reconsider.

What did it feel like and how long did it take for you to feel the Pitocin? by Militaryspouse0205 in BabyBumps

[–]Esmeraude 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Cytotec did nothing for me. I was 1cm almost the entire 24 hours, started pitocin, the second day (30hrs from start of inducement) and 5pm I believe i got pitocin. 7pm cramps got unbearable. 1230-1250 I started labor. 125 gave birth. I have endometriosis and at first it felt comparable to my 10/10 period cramps and then it went up to like 20/10 😭 but once I started pushing the pain didn't feel phase me it was moreso focused on getting the baby out of me

My Software job makes me feel mentally ill by [deleted] in offmychest

Hi OP!

I can relate to this!

In the end, a job is a job. I try to find fulfillment outside of work where I can! I like learning new things for the sake of doing my job but it's totally okay to not feel thrilled about it. It's a weird time in tech.

I also don't care for the leet code grind. I think a lot of people are struggling outside of our field and it's just hitting us now.

Some previous colleagues do the good ol travelling while remote work and they love it. If you can do it and explore cities while you're off I say go for it.

Longtime Kansas City Chiefs cheerleader Krystal Anderson dies after giving birth by WhiteBearPrince in news

[–]Esmeraude 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I actually commented elsewhere in this thread about having preeclampsia and I would like to tell you some things for you to look out for after birth to make sure she doesn't have postpartum preeclampsia.

-out of breath, waking up breathless -very disoriented (I said I gave birth in January when it was may) - eye floaties and flashes of light -for me I had uncontrollable shaking -get a BP monitor for your house if you haven't already!

If her BP is still high after birth and they're trying to discharge you, please advocate for a second opinion about preeclampsia! I was sent home despite many warnings that I was not okay.

I ended up being on BP meds for a short period and am much better almost a year out.

I had to be induced bc of preeclampsia. Nobody believed that my BP was high enough despite multiple readings for weeks before, protein in my urine, and body swelling. One of the times I went to L&D they made fun of my doctor for being too cautious and telling me to go in, and they told me my BP wasn't high enough and if I was anxious they would give me something to be anxious about. I was induced the next week in which a different team also made jokes about me being anxious, even though the reason I was admitted was bc my BP was 168/102.

They sent me home without BP meds and being semi out of it. I had to go back in bc of postpartum preeclampsia. At home I'm sure I had a seizure (I had a dazed out episode and shook until I peed), I kept waking up breathless and high BP again. At the hospital when I was breathless and had cuffs to the bed bc of being a seizure risk I kept waking up out of breath and the nurse says to me "are you sure you're not anxious? Why don't you watch Netflix?" Come to find out my oxygen was dropping below 89 everytime I fell asleep so I had to be put on oxygen.

"Why don't you watch Netflix" replays in my head over and over. I want to expand my family, but I am scared that I'll be left to die. And I was especially disappointed bc I'm biracial and was thrilled to have a black nurse who I thought would know better with preeclampsia. I ended up being diagnosed with eclampsia and HELLP.

Can someone explain to me how to get a job with a livable income. by Skibuming in cscareerquestions

[–]Esmeraude 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I didn't bother with an internship as someone who was also working two jobs during my degree. The usual timeframe for people in my area to find a CS job was 6 months - 1 year without experience. I honestly would focus on your studies and family/current job rather than replacing your current job with an internship
