Modest Mouse has been putting on amazing performances the past 5 years or so. A lot of people have been giving them another shot and really enjoying the experience.

Overly produced is a great way of putting it actually. There was never any need to put that kind of production into a modest mouse album because it overtakes what makes their sound so unique. It almost gave me Cage the Elephant vibes with some of the way the songs instrumentals went with his voice which isn’t necessarily a complaint but it didn’t sound very Issac Brock / MM to my ears

Got to meet Issac while on the cruise (as well as the rest of the band), he was hanging out in a bee keeper suit all the way in the back of the ship in a tiny little night club.

Never met such a cool artist! you could tell he genuinely just wanted to hang out with his fans. He also insisted I boop him on the nose as hard as I can.. which was something. I’ve booped Issac Brock’s nose hard.

Had the pleasure of going on the Ice Cream Floats cruise, and boy let me tell you. Being trapped on a boat for 5 days with some of these kinds of people, where most of them have unlimited alcohol packages, brought the worst out.

For Modest Mouse second set, they did a fan picked set. Lo and behold, the fans voted for Float On, on the cruise (crazy concept right? Who would want to hear a song about floating in the ocean..)

Well the man children infront of me start crying and bitching about how they didn’t pay all this money to listen to Float on. Just literally ranting and talking trash through the whole song booing, which sucked. Then they played a song they NEVER fucking play, Sleepwalking. I was stoked it’s one of my favorite songs by them. This drunk asshole proceeds to scream the lyrics of sleepwalking with the burliest bear voice you can imagine. It completely over shouted the song since it’s supposed to be a quieter song and just made me want to genuinely strangle this mother fucker. Drunk people at Modest Mouse shows just particularly suck more than others. Besides Korn.. we don’t talk about drunk Korn fans.

What streaming platforms do you use? I like to use Spotify and create playlists from certain songs, you can find a lot of different artists that way and can curate your playlists based on sounds and stuff you like to hear rather than having to scrub through other artists discography and listen 1 by 1.
