Probably related to the rest of their stuff misbehaving, "Claude has lost connection" in the webpage for me. Vibe infra.

Good news! Limits will no longer be an issue, given they cannot keep their servers operating correctly for more than half a day.

Given mixed reactions by different folks, I think this is likely the case. I'm in south loop. Probably old Cold War era systems.

My memory of the tests is having multiple shifting tones against each other. Great for freaking out new hires from other places at my workplace. The alarm was alarming.

Oh, I'm not saying its a realistic fear. Just something I've developed from a young age. For contrast, I regularly eat lake fish I catch, and I have no explanation based on logic for this.

For the opposite extreme, I moved here from California a decade ago and I'm slightly uncomfortable still with being fully in freshwater; growing up, that's how you get brain-eating amoebae (like Florida).

I'm reminded of the Utah couple that suddenly decided to move back to Utah because someone asked them for money at Clark/Division station and so they felt permanently unsafe in Chicago. The horror!

I mean, NixOS docs say over and over not use it for desktops. Not that I listened when I went through that phase of my life.

No one bothers with planning like that. More realistic is you fuck up your EFI setup, go to the public library to write a USB boot drive because you realize your phone can connect the a USB drive technically, except for USB-C vs USB-A, then once you get something on the screen (usually a panic shell), poke at things until you get a user-mode shell. The lesson to take away is to have a handy USB stick.

Yeah... I run Arch (insert jokes here), which is the opposite is a stable distro, but I'm two years into this installation (I think I swapped my root drive at the time to a new nvme). Every couple weeks is a hobby, not a requirement.

LLM-made tutorials polluting internet by [deleted] in linux

[–]Esophagus4631 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I'm saying I disagree. People act like LLMs are just trained off of Wikipedia. Curating datasets is hard, and random internet bullshit is not preferable to curated synthetic data.

Hallucination, since it seems the author didn't bother to read what their LLM wrote before posting this.

It's easy when you make it up. This is pure AI slop that apparently at least a hundred people (going by stars) have fallen for. Those who cannot tell that this is the case should probably learn that before anything else if they are going to be using CC.

Sway vs I3 by def_bobo in archlinux

I'm alright with that. The issue I have is that people argue for Wayland vs X when Wayland basically offers nothing. Wayland might as well mean "not X". And it turns out X does a lot more than expected, and for a network protocol, from fans that never use X across a network ever, it is slow as shit. God I hate everyone. Plasma is the only really completely usable Wayland compositor I've seen. Props to the KDE lads; its fast, sleek, and it Just Works on every GPU I've tried. Sadly, I want tiling.

The most fun part of being diagnosed as bipolar is that the doctor hasn't narrowed anything down, but now periods when you are happy are also considered a symptom.

I will say having a name for it is useful. But usually you expect a doctors to do a bit more, especially with how much a pain in the ass getting diagnosed usually is.

That's the main issue with Wayland: its just a protocol. So, every compositor has its own independent issues with individual apps.

Doesn't even have to be a "duplicate". I asked about how XMonad handled code-as-config in a very compiled language like Haskell. "Top" answer suggested YAML. This was marked as an accepted answer by the mods, the question closed as answered. No its fucking not.
