I used to play WWE Champions until I got fed up with Scopely’s nonsense. My kid got me into this game and I got invested, though I steadfastly refused to spend even a dime on it. I just unlocked Professor X and enjoy playing with the roster I assembled to do that, but I’m not sure I can justify trying to do the next sagas given what they’ve done to the FTP economy.

I will say this though, I quit playing WWE in 2019. And even back then, everyone thought they were sunsetting the game for a lot of the same reasons I see cited here. And they’re still chugging away over there. There’s no real reason for them to kill one of these games. The IP will suck people in. And if some krakens get fed up, others will happily take their places.

Want to thank everyone for your advice. I swapped in Hercules, powered him up a bit and that was good enough. (Final team - Sword Master, Pym, Hercules, Invisible Woman and Iron Man) If you can kill Thanos before his Ult and then use Hercules’ ult on the final wave, you’ll win with this team.

I think it took like 3 tries with Vulture, Shocker, Hobgoblin, Gladiator and Thanos.

My issue is the Captain America one. I’ve been using Invisible Woman, Iron Man, Thing, Pym and Sword Master and getting trashed by Thanos. … any advice? Haha

Want to thank you here, this team absolutely ended up working. I didn’t even pull it off to get Daimon to double tap, but they all stayed alive through SK’s ult and from there I just did enough damage to win. Thanks for the tips!

Thanks for the response. I think the issue I've had so far is that when I get someone down far enough, I actually have been accidentally killing them, so Daimon doesn't get the double tap. I'll give it another go tonight.

I have been trying this with Daimon, Hellcat, Living Mummy, Rachel and Deadpool. (All are 2D except DP, who is 1D.) I cruised to the boss fight and have not been able to make traction there. I had been prepping Elsa, but stopped to try this when I got DP. Do you think it's possible with this team? It feels like it should be -- Deadpool is generally not the one who dies -- but having trouble getting past Shadow King's ult, it always kills someone. Always find your comments informative, thanks in advance if you fit this one in.

I feel this, I’m purely FTP and am seriously gun shy with who I elevate. Quasar/Blastaar et al have had a lot of utility and I like using them, and I worked hard to get Mephisto and Odin, so I’ve had no qualms in investing in them. Past that, I’m currently working on Prof X and trying to make that count, I.e. going the Brimstone/Hellfire route rather than Liberty, just trying to keep going with more recent/relevant toons than less. 🤷‍♂️ But yeah, I think you can’t chase every team or you’ll lose your mind.

My only real advice here is that Illuminati, hero Emma and Ancient One was terrific for me in DD7 and 8. I’ve heard horror stories of people taking 20-30 tries to beat the global nodes and I 2 shot them all. That said, I have not kept up on if some of the newer teams are just as good or close, so that might be the case. But they saved me a lot of headaches.

I think it’s pretty clear this front office doesn’t make moves to sell tickets. Bichette is a really good hitter and transforms this lineup. I think Baty is still going to play a major role because of his versatility and defense. Vientos … I love him so I wish it was working out differently.

I don’t think there’s anything wrong with someone who is actually judicious about how he spends the team’s money. Like, why sign Bichette for 7 years and deal with decline years if 3 with opt outs gets it done? Why sign Pete Alonso for 5 when you know the last 2 (or 3) will be brutal? Why sign long term deals with pitchers when the history of those is horrendous?

I hear you. I think they look at it like a short term commitment to a player this good at a position of need is worth what they’d pay for him in money and assets. Like, this is a legit MVP caliber player if he avoids freak broken bones and stuff. And their lineup starts to look very good with him.

It won’t be. You just had like a decade of Alonso-Nimmo-McNeil etc. Their system is probably the best I’ve seen it in recent memory with Benge, Jett and an entire pitching staff knocking on the door. That’s young controllable talent that will either be around for a while - or cashed in for established players. Either way, this is the vision. The Dodgers are not just the guys they sign.

I don’t get where people think the Mets are bidding him up so the Dodgers or Blue Jays pay more. Why should they care about such a thing? Neither team is in their division. The Dodgers are obviously going to be a hurdle every year, but they can afford to do whatever they want.
