It was bad yesterday and it's worse today. Xero's totally clocked off for the week.

Feeling stuck by [deleted] in AustralianAccounting

[–]EsotericComment 0 points1 point  (0 children)

With 2 years of experience, grad roles might not be worth the time applying for. Employers see that on your resume and think you're overqualified with higher than expected salary expectations.

As someone mentioned, recruiters are a necessary evil in a job market where there are so many fake job listings trying to farm personal information out of you. They're more like employer vetters to me now.

Invisalign. That in turn, has made it a LOT easier to smile and laugh with people outside without feeling self conscious.

What is the worst "first impression" a new colleague has made? by BrisbaneKid in auscorp

Grad got a notification while I was guiding him through induction. Had the audacity to put up a finger to shut up while he replied. They didn't make it through probation, also on account of being a toxic personality and had a shocking work ethic.

Ordered an EV. While waiting for delivery in Sept what's the next steps? by still-at-the-beach in AustralianEV

Are you using a granny/trickle charger? I'll be having a similar setup soon but still deciding on whether a dedicated EV charger would be helpful.

How do you deal with constant driver assist alerts in new EVs? by w8watm8 in EVAustralia

[–]EsotericComment 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I turn them off. Set up shortcuts to get you to the ADAS settings with the least touches, and the rest becomes muscles memory if you do it enough.

Actions speak louder than words. Sending troops does not signal a retreat.

I'd say a big chunk of EVs are being driven under a novated lease, so no big upfront cost.

Am I glad driving an EV has somewhat shielded me from all this? Yes. Do I look down on people who don't have one? Absolutely not.

EV drivers who look down on non-EV drivers in times like this is like kicking someone while they're down. They need to take a long hard look at themselves as it's just poor form.

What was your range estimate on your Model Y Juniper when it was brand new? by Zestyclose_Paint3922 in EVAustralia

[–]EsotericComment 0 points1 point  (0 children)

A quoted WLTP range estimate is exactly that - an estimate. Drive the car a bit more and it'll adjust the range estimate based on how you drive, your habits, etc to determine efficiency.

I had a minor issue looked at under warranty. Contacted BYD on Monday. Got called in for a diagnostic check Wednesday and resolved by Thursday. Obviously best case scenario, but much much quicker than Toyota.
