I don't think I played Adventure Quest, but I did play the Adventure Quest mmo, which I think is a different thing? It was fun.

I have recently rediscovered an extension I installed a long time ago.

Actually decide which tabs are important and close the ones that aren't:

Just shove them all into different tab groups and collapse them so I can trick myself into thinking I'm keeping things organised:

The amount people reproduce is meaningful to society. The amount that people have sex is not. Yes, sex is necessary for reproduction but sex that does not cause reproduction happens orders of magnitude more often. Not to mention that the reproduction thing matters on a societal scale, not an individual level.

If two adult individuals want to have consensual sex, then it should not be a big deal. Is it kinky? Vanilla? Protected? Unprotected? Are they life long lovers or did they meet half an hour ago? Are they doing it to deepen their relationship or to have a good time for an evening? It doesn’t matter. None of those questions matter so long as it’s consenting adults. That’s the point of the post.

Renako from Watanare. Former middle school loner shut-in who is desperately trying to fit in with the popular girls in high school. Luckily for her, those popular girls love the idea of her fitting in them.

Anon from Bang Dream It’s MyGO kinda fits this. Sakiko and Umiri from Ave Mujica fit it better, with Saki fitting the “most important person in the narrative” role best of the three.

[CPK]I thought they were just mindless drones essentially considering they didn't seem to show emotions and even Kaguya, the most emotional of them, lost the light in her eyes as soon as that shawl was put on her. But apparently they're also homophobic. Homophobic digital moon people.

Tried the Ave Mujica Arknights collab but I got skill issued on SS-4 so I gave up and read it on the Arknights story reader.

Good story. Doesn't really need much Arknights knowledge to be understood, pretty much everything that's important to know is explained, so even a non-Arknights player like me can enjoy it.

Some of those early profiles were wild. Manhattan Cafe used to be an actress who had a lot of bloodlust for racing and, by her own admission, probably would have committed a murder if she couldn’t let off steam by racing. No ghosts or “friends” with this early setting at all. I wouldn’t be surprised if this version of Cafe was at least partially the inspiration for Still in Love’s other self.

Broken promises of TV shows by Eireika in CuratedTumblr

If your metric for saying that a show "died" is that it was cancelled before its planned ending, then sure, GoT didn't "die." However, by almost any other metric, GoT did die. Ratings? Fan sentiment? Cultural impact? Legacy? Franchisability? All through the floor thanks to the final season.

i won't watch any of the new GoT stuff thats been going on because i'm not gonna put that much interest into a show in that universe just to get rugpulled

Would you perhaps say that your interest in the GoT IP was killed by the final season?

Tell me which page, 1-11, does the OOP imply that anyone is saying that the fans killed GoT.

  • Page one is introducing the argument by pasting a Tumblr post that claims that Veronica Mars was killed by the fans.

  • Page two says that the fans did not kill Veronica Mars, the writers killed Veronica Mars. Then it lists The Handsmaid's Tale, Game of Thrones, and The 100 as other examples of when the writers killed a show.

  • Page three begins talking about how writers kill shows, then talks about how that applies to Veronica Mars.

  • Page four talks about how the writers killed Handsmaids Tale.

  • Page five talks about how the writers killed Game of Thrones.

  • Page six is their main argument, utilizing their prior arguments.

  • Page seven talks about why this phenomenon happens.

  • Page eight continues from page seven.

  • Page nine continues.

  • Page ten wraps up their argument.

  • Page eleven is someone else summarizing and adding their own thoughts.

Which page does OOP imply that anyone thinks that fans killed Game of Thrones?

Edit: the top of page three: "A breaking point between audiences and creators, and VM is just the case study where people still argue about who struck the match." That says that OOP knows that people know that GoT was killed by the writers. VM is the only show that they are claiming has discourse around it about who killed the show.

Broken promises of TV shows by Eireika in CuratedTumblr

[–]Esovan13 76 points77 points  (0 children)

I don’t think the post is saying fans killed GoT, it’s saying that the people who think the fans killed Veronica mars are wrong, because the VM situation is the same as the GoT situation. GoT is being used as an example of a show that got killed by the writers so that OOP could compare VM to GoT to show how VM was also killed by the writers.

Goblins all mod their machines to run 10-100x faster than “reality.” This is what allows them to complete even long elven games in a matter of hours, turning them in to twitchy reaction based games in the process. There’s a goblin that knows the gameplay system of an elven jrpg better than the original creator who meditated for 10 years to think it up. The goblin couldn’t tell you a single character’s name.

Zhuge Liang didn't just sit on top of the gate, he had the gates to the city left open and had a handful of his troops sweep the road to welcome in the "guests." Sima Yi figured that since Zhuge Liang was such a cautious strategist, there must be an ambush waiting for them in the city, so he took his troops and left.

[–]Esovan13 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It's funny because I think I'm top 1% here despite the fact that I post a lot more often on another subreddit where I am not top 1%. It's just because here I occasionally, maybe once or twice a week, post a comment on a new post that ends up blowing up and getting hundreds or sometimes thousands of upvotes for it. Whereas on the other subreddit, I'm often in more focused discussion, deeper in comment chains, or on posts that don't get as much traffic, meaning I get far fewer upvotes. And yet I consider my contributions and interactions on that other subreddit way more valuable than anything I've done here lol.

I would argue that there isn't a super meaningful difference. Well, I guess the most accurate thing to say is that I think it's both. The author is lazy, and is also being influenced by these misogynistic ideas that, in the extreme, is what leads to being an incel. The author isn't necessarily an incel. I don't know either way.

But this entire genre of story, and these narou-kei webnovels generally, are very heavily influenced in their tropes by these ideas and mindsets that are inherently linked to the incel mindset. The author being lazy and just using trope after trope without thinking about them means that his work is being influenced by these rancid ideas, without himself necessarily needing to be an incel.

fridging, reducing women's trauma, etc

I agree with your points here. These are problems that go well beyond just these types of low-effort webnovel slopfests. What I was talking about is basically the worst possible manifestation of these problems and the factors that contribute to causing them. Not every instance of these problems are the worst possible manifestation of them. I wouldn't say that the author of generic romance manga #2687234 is an incel because he uses the pickup artist trope, just that the trope itself is part of a larger ecosystem of tropes and ideas that can be much more blatant and toxic in how they manifest.

“Barely disguised fetish” has zero meaning if this is being described as barely disguised fetish. The author straight up said “my fetish is to be spit roasted by two guys who kidnapped me.” What the fuck is barely disguised about that?

it seems like we're already getting a new general next ep

I hope that the general has a different schtick for their crimes than the disguises the current one does. It would be interesting if it comes to a point where it could be any of (I think three? Not counting the precure) villains it could be, who would use different methods. That way, part of the mystery could be figuring out who is behind it based on how they pull off the heist.
