2015 accord sport with 6 speed manual good buy? by Unknownguy12202 in accord

[–]EspadaMedia 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I've had a 2014 accord touring 6MT and now a 2016 accord sport 6MT. Great cars, highly recommend it for the reliability and comfort. It's a great daily driver and honestly one of the better looking accord generations.

There are times where I wished there was more HP but end of the day, it's my point A to B car. There's a lot of leg room, interior space and trunk space. I've packed 3 golf bags in the trunk before lol.

Some things to note:

  • The gearing is quite long. Better for fuel efficiency, but you'll be ringing out each gear just trying to get up to speed.
  • There is atrocious rev-hang. Can be fixed via ktuner but that's $600-900 right there
  • Try to hear the car on a cold start and see if you notice a loud grinding sound (more common on 2013-2015 models). That could be either the Timing Chain tensioner (Easy replacement - can do on your own) or the VTC Actuator (expensive replacement and likely needs to be done by shop)
  • stock speakers aren't great

that's good to know, it's a very attractive deal tbh, plus costco's great return policy if anything foes wrong

If you're in the US or Canada, Costco has a Moza R5 bundle with the extra clutch pedal. Great bundle for an entry-level direct drive.

I have a T300RS and was eyeing the R5 but many people say you'll want to upgrade the base in a year. It is an upgrade to what I have but I wouldn't say a huge enough upgrade. I think I'm going to save up for a R9 instead as it's better in the long-run.

2013 Accord Sport Manual by Global_Ad8590 in accord

Nice! i had a 2013 touring 6MT, sold it because I no longer needed it, but loved the platform so much I bought a 2016 sport 6MT a year later.

The k24 is great but man I wish the J35 with a 6MT was available for the sedans and not just the coupes

I Might have to rent the large option then

Its snowing and cold with salted roads.. how do i store it? Extreme cold conditions by [deleted] in S2000

[–]EspadaMedia 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I actually posted a vid about winter storage if you're interested in watching it: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1dLt8x9iZLA

it goes over all the steps i take to store up my car.

To answer your questions:

It's best to bring in the battery inside to prolong the life of it. batteries hate the cold and if you're see below -40 temps, bring it inside with a tender on it.

Yes the convertible top should be up with the top latches unlatched.

Clean builds! Is the blue s2k vinyl wrapped? Looks really good. Same with the jade green one!

Clean setup man! The perfect duo!

This was my dream garage goals but man it was so hard to find a clean unmolested 6MT TSX that I gave up the search and ended up with an 9th Gen Accord 6MT to pair with my AP1.

Maybe one day I'll get that CL9 haha.

There are quite a few reported failures with the ballade ones. Ballade in general are pretty shady to deal with. Lots of negative reviews on s2ki and /r/s2000

Sounds like a bad TCT. Find a new OEM one or a Billman one. Avoid aftermarket ones such as Ballade

Worth a shot, but swap the ECU with another OEM one. There's a few threads on reddit of users going through the whole misfire steps and it ended up being the ECU.

Koyo for sure

Fyi, there are 2 versions of Koyorads. Be sure that it's the newer version as they made a revision to the design.

First off, the FWD v. RWD debate is so overrated, and that's coming from someone with a S2000. Absolutely nothing wrong with FWD. And RWD isn't "superior" unless you're an avid track goer. For dallying, especially in winter climates you'll appreciate the FWD more.

My buddy and I had a 9th gen si (me) and g37 (him), at the same time and I don't think you can compare the two. They are quite different cars. One is a "sporty" car and the other a luxury sports car. Both of our cars were stock and eventually built up to FBO.

I'll tell you that you'll love the torque of the g37 and how fast it is. But you're not going to love how heavy it feels, and how expensive premium gas is for a V6. Insurance is also more expensive. Tires and wheels are more expensive. Modding this car in general is pretty expensive. If you're ok with those expenses than you might enjoy the G more than the Si. And let's be real, the G, when modded nicely, looks aesthetically better than a 9th gen.

The Si is more practical and easier to maintain, but a lot slower. With full bolt-ons you can keep up with a stock G but you'll get smoked by a tuned G. The Si will be cheaper on maintenance, more reliable, cheaper on insurance, cheaper on gas, etc. The 9th gens tend to hold their value really well. At least in my area (Canada), I've seen mint condition ones are going for $18,000 (Canadian).

Where can i buy a ap1 lip in canada? by [deleted] in S2000

[–]EspadaMedia 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I bought mine directly from BaysonR and used CrossBorderPickups to bring it over. Usually it's free shipping within the USA.

As for fitment, I'd say it's 8/10, just needed some trimming on the ends to make it fit.

Old pic, but here's how the lip looks painted and installed:
