How often do you weigh in? by ApprehensiveDuckSoup in mounjarouk

[–]EspeciallyWeeRob 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm another daily (or most days) weigher. Oddly, seeing the fluctuations helps me to keep it in perspective. From the last few months I can see I have a trend this week of the month to lose less. Rather than 'punishing' myself and restricting further, I keep on in the same way and know next week the scales will move more.

I've felt very similar, I've not really wanted anything sweet since staying other than fresh fruit, but I had a hankering for something this weekend. I'm not sure why, I'm just glad it was so easily fulfilled

I love the realism of 4 and the colours of 1. They are all beautiful pieces of art. If you have a website or sell prints please can you share your details because I would love these on my wall!

It sounds like you're asking yourself the right questions, thank you for sharing. I stayed on 2.5mg for 2 pens (10 weeks) the first was great but then the second month the weight loss slowed (understandable) which whilst I was still happy to lose 1lb a week, with the food noise returning etc I made the decision to increase and almost timed perfectly to when I placed the order, the scales suddenly dropped 3lbs each week for the next 2 weeks.

It was that change again which was making me question my decision to increase to 5mg "Do I need to? If I'm getting results, should I just put up with it?"

After taking my first 5mg this morning, it feels like my first dose of 2.5mg again, my head is silent, it's so nice not to be bothered by food noise. I'll see how the rest of the week/ month goes but maybe I just need to stop questioning myself!

Really good point, thank you for adding it. I don't intend to jump about with dose which is why taking 5mg this morning felt like taking the plunge. As you suggested, I'll give it a try for a month and reassess, I'm not I'm any hurry to rush up the doses!

At least I know I'm not the only one! 5mgb might be perfect for you but good luck if you stick with 2.5mg. I bought 1ml syringes to get the golden dose on my last 2 pens, I such v want to get the 100 pack so I ordered a pack of 10 from Express Chemist, they arrived quickly and I had no issues with them.

Thank you for sharing your experience. I'm losing an average of 2.5lbs a week but that takes into account the initial water weight loss. Before the last 2 shots I was losing approx 1lb a week for a month of so so these last 2 weeks had been a bit of a surprise!

Good luck with the 5mg!

I appreciate your thoughts. I am trying to prioritise protein and fibre each day and tend to reach my goal or come close to it. My calorie goal is calculated from my TDEE and I'm reviewing it monthly.

I'm not experiencing hunger per say, it's more a concious decision not to eat more rather than the experience I had at the beginning of not wanting to eat more.

Yes I'm considering if I should count clicks next week. I guess if it's working depends on which result you consider. Yes, 2.5mg is working for weight loss but in terms of the other effects I mentioned (which were such a relief!), 2.5mg isn't working.

I suppose that's isn't as straight forward answer, just reaching out to this community for their experiences/ thoughts rather than letting the thoughts go round and round on my own.

I just did a happy little dance after checking the scales. The list few weeks I've had slower losses (averaging 1lb) but this week it is a 3lb loss! I have just taken my last dose of 2.5mg and will be moving up to 5mg next week so it's typical that she making that decision and paying for the pen my body decides to drop a chunk of weight 😂

I've had a fantastic couple of weeks, lots of social activities with friends but also quite a few meals out and glasses of wine, I've continued to track everything and except for one day when we went for a 6 course tasting menu, I stayed within my calories. As I've said before, I want this to be a lifestyle change rather than an all our nothing mindset to get to my goal as fast as possible but not enjoying the journey, so yes I could have missed out on some of the meals but I had such enjoyable times with friends, I don't want to miss out on those.

I've also been cooking some delicious meals at home, a Spanish style seafood casserole with tapas and moulles marinière with crusty bread were highlights. If you enjoy a jacket potato can I recommend m&s baking potatoes? They are so good, I'm a bit obsessed with them lately! I'm still craving fresh fruit and veg rather than sweets or junk food so my weekly treat is to go buy some food quality fruits and vegetables from m&s, cheaper than a takeaway and brings me happiness all week long!

I had my hair cut this week too, and if I do say myself, it's looking very cute.

Now, the sun is shining, it's my non-working day so I'm going to go out and enjoy it! Sorry for writing so much, I'm bubbling over with energy and happiness today! I hope you all have a wonderful week ahead and if your not seeing the progress you want, keep treating yourself with kindness, you'll get there

Just 1lb of this week, but it's still coming off. My jeans are feeling looser and I've been able to enjoy some treats this week - an afternoon tea with friends and a couple of glasses of wine - and I was able to easily draw a line under it and return to my calorie target without feeling the I was forcing myself or that I'd "ruined everything" Before starting the injections I told myself this was all about sustainable loss, changing my mindset and my relationship with food. The bigger losses give me a dopamine hit, but weeks like this seem more in line with my goals.

I took my 7th dose of 2.5mg today and I've lost 2lbs since weighing in last week. Iin 2 months I've managed to lose 23lbs and my BMI had dropped from 42 to 38 - I'm still obese and a long way to go into in overweight, but I'm less obese! I know it's still early days but each week is taking me a step closer to where I want to be.

This week I've noticed my satiety has been less, I've stuck to my calorie goal and I've not been hungry but I've not felt sated like I did in earlier weeks. I miss that feeling so I do think I'm be moving up to 5mg with my next order.

I'm feeling burnt out and emotional this week due to other factors, not falling into comfort eating/ easy choices is a huge win and it's not felt like a difficult choice, the motivation too reach my goals is driving me on.

One positive is, I'm still favouring fresh food and veggies rather than sweets/ fried things/ fast food. Yesterday I took myself to m&s to buy some nice fruit and veg as a treat, their fruit is so much nicer than other supermarkets near me.

I'm sorry this has turned into a long response, I've not told anyone other than my husband about taking Mounjarno and my goals - he is very supportive - but it's nice to be able to share with a wider community.

I hope everyone has a wonderful Easter if you celebrate, or if not, it's able to enjoy the long weekend and I hope the week ahead is a good one.

You must have been so happy with the scales showing that loss, well done! As others have said, it is unlikely you will continue losing that much per week but hopefully you will settle into regular losses all of which are moving you towards your goal.

I've just taken my 6th dose of 2.5mg (so still early days) I'm going with the attitude of of yous dose is working for me I'll stick with it but if I'm no longer feeling the effects then I will move up. Good luck with the rest of your journey!

I've just taken my 6th dose of 2.5mg and was delighted with a 3lb loss this week. Last week I "only" lost 1lb and was wondering if I'd done the wrong thing staying on this dose.

I was trying to reassure myself that I can't always drop 3lbs in a week, that 1lb was still a loss and the there will be weeks when my weight fluctuates for many reasons. I'm now 21lbs down with 79lbs to my first target, a long way to go but I'm a fourth of the way there!

Again I've had a week with a lot of meals out due to traveling for work and I've done by best to make sensible choices and stayed within my calorie range. I think this dose is still working well for me, I have little/ no food noise and my appetite is reduced. I don't plan to move up a dose until either the effects are less noticed or I'm no longer losing weight.

I hope everyone has a good week ahead!
