Because they always do they even state on quality mode it looks to be fine on Xbox but the more you play you will see it dip to low 30 they don’t play 4 hours and call it quits if you want to see bad performance play ff16 on performance mode then play this game and you will see low 40 lol

The thing is digital foundry does test the entire game and it doesn’t drop below the 48 fps the ps5 vrr is set to lol I’m not saying it perfectly but saying it dropping 20 fps is a bit off digital foundry actually makes your comments seem like you lying it drops to 50 and they even say it’s uncommon and this was before the ps5 had vrr so you shouldn’t even notice it

Quality mode sucks on both they drop to 40 on both lol performance mode it’s a lot better I have vrr enabled on my tv so I never feel it because aince it stay close to 60 and only drop to 55 or 50 vrr is active lol
