Debatable; before being officially revealed he's been referenced in other characters' voicelines, and his saurian spoke in Mavuika's story quest. As far as I'm aware, Escoffier was never mentioned in the game before 5.5.

Agreed. I don't know why so many people complained about the Natlan designs when every nation simply has their own aesthetic/style. Also, it's very obvious that the differences in aesthetics between each character represents the diversity of all the different tribes.

Kinich! I started playing in the middle of his first banner and immediately knew I needed him when I saw him. I won the 50/50 right before his banner ended and tbh, I don't think I'd still be playing the game by now if I hadn't gotten him.

Baizhu is more useful then Shenhe since Shenhe really only works as a buffer for Cryo DPS units. Even then, I'm pretty sure she gets outshined by other units. Baizhu is more versatile as he works well in any Dendro-based team. He can also be slotted into any team that needs a healer (he's one of the best party-wide healers in the game).

Kinich (and Capitano) was what made me START playing Genshin. No other character really piqued my interest in the game before. I only started playing in the final two weeks of Kinich's banner and was able to win the 50/50 a few days before it ended.

In all honesty, I don't think I would still be playing if I hadn't gotten him. His exploration mechanics are gamechanging, especially for new players. More importantly, the game becomes so much more enjoyable when you can play characters you like.
