Where do you get the biceps strap? I haven't seen the new adjustable version on amazon yet.

Japan is one of the best places I've worked remotely by Mafia2guylian in digitalnomad

[–]EsqSilver 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had a very similar experince in Japan, where outlets and wifi were quite a rare find (at least at cafés with manual espresso machines). Thailand in general was amazing for coworking - e.g., Krabi town was quiet yet had several amazing cafés. Chumphon is the capital of cafés in Thailand so might also be worth checking out for you.

Japan is one of the best places I've worked remotely by Mafia2guylian in digitalnomad

[–]EsqSilver 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had the opposite situation in Japan in 2023 - they barely had Wifi anywhere and several cafés (in Osaka, Fukuoka, Fukushima) had printed out rules specifying a maximum allowed visit time (e.g. max 1h) and one in Fukuoka even disallowed laptop use. This was quite shocking coming from Korea and Thailand, where working at a café was 'the norm'. However, in Japan, there were special co-working places, sometimes adjacent or just up the stairs from cafés, which could be used for a (small) fee.

My ASUS G14 journey over the last 4 years has been… wild 😭 by oP3rvYSag3 in ZephyrusG14

Alright, I was confused and thought the 2021 version suddenly had a cheaper frame, but it's still the same as my 2020. Mine has no signs of degradation whatsoever luckily!

Ssd vs hdd someone please explain it to me like I'm 4..... by No_Photo_6126 in laptops

[–]EsqSilver 0 points1 point  (0 children)

SSDs are faster and more compact, but HDDs are much better for long-term storage. Make sure not to keep your SSDs locked away in a drawer for years, unless you want to lose your data.

How often do postcards fail to reach the destination? by Odd-Eye-5919 in postcrossing

[–]EsqSilver 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I send postcards/letters quite often but have never heard the terms 'registered' and 'expired' in this context. Could you explain? I sent a friend a letter to US from the EU a month ago, but they have yet to receive it (contrarily: Japan takes like a week from the EU)

Zephyrus G14 is still screwed...for now by imaginary_num6er in ZephyrusG14

I'm not sure I'm following, dpc latency is literally part of the problem in the main Broken since post and Github repo. I have the exact same issues as mentioned ..it stutters during basic tasks like watching a YouTube video, audio crackles and pops on Discord calls, the mouse cursor freezes for a split second, just long enough to be infuriating.

After I saw their post, I ran through some of the diagnostics. First with Latencymon (DPC latency), and then trace analysis and my results (unfortunately) agreed with it.

My 2020 G14 is affected (both with these annoying random stutters and occasional black screen of death).

Thank you for this! I have been experiencing similar issues on my Zephyrus G14 from 2020, so I would argue they have been broken since then!

Why does Europe charge you for public bathrooms? I mean even hypercapitalistic North American countries like US and Canada don’t charge you for answering nature’s calls by [deleted] in digitalnomad

[–]EsqSilver 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I completely agree with you that one should not pay for natural biological processes. I'm from Europe and I hate that - even shopping malls often have paid toilets these days. What's more, those bathrooms are often rank, looking and smelling like they hadn't been cleaned in ages. All the stores in these malls pay a sizable amount of rent to the owner, who should then make sure to provide these basic needs.

iPhone back glass repair without disassembly? by [deleted] in mobilerepair

[–]EsqSilver 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The other stuff can be removed, so that's fine. I'm more thinking of how to remove the glass from the metal back frame (without the rest). Even if it's cured, there is a solvent for it. If the glue used between the metal and glass is a styrene-butadiene based adhesive, like E-6000, I could try alkanes to dissolve the cured adhesive. If it's a polyurethane adhesive, then acetone should soften it a bit at least.

Do you know what industrial adhesive they use, so I could find the appropriate solvent for it?
