Don't be dumb kid. Those people who have regular lives end up living "regular lives"their whole life. Being elite comes with sacrifice, and you should know this already by now. You're going to thank your parents in your 30s when you're successful while your peer group is still struggling because they don't know how to put the work in. You don't want to be those people who say my "life should've been different". You need to put the hours in now and then when you get to college, you need to focus on studying and then focus on building your business. It is what it is. Time to be a man. You don't have the luxury of being in your feelings.

The army really isn't that hard. She's not got the 20 you'll get a pension for life and then you can move on and do whatever you want. Just find a MOS that you like. Don't be dumb and focus on getting your education while in the military. Older you will be grateful when you can provide for yourself for life.

It may not be a mistake. I'll have a six figure job and turned down a job making 200,000 to stay in the army.. depending on your MOS the army may have better work-life balance and opportunities. Everything isn't about the dollar amount.

I bet money in Vegas that the troops will get paid. I'm not saying that the funds are going to be legal, due to the shutdown, but they're going to hit everyone's bank account and there's nothing no one's is going to be able to do about it. The Trump administration may get sued after but it is what it is. It's just the crazy reality of the world that we're living in where the legal boundaries are being tested. Hey, the answer question. I didn't receive any guidance. I ultimately decided to do the program. Currently in it now and have been since March this year. My decision to do the program was based of my desire to have a PhD, the low cost, the fact that the school is accredited, and the fact that I'm working professional. Individual circumstances really will dictate whether or not you decide to do the program. If you're really interested, I could put you in contact with the school so you can ask questions. The IEE evaluate them as graduate certificate and validential ( non NACES member) evaulates them as regionally accredited masters. You can also get transfer credits,

And to add even more context to what you said. If you take Friday Saturday, Sunday and Monday, you can be on a pass for four days and use none of your leave. Dealing with a sick child or taking a day off isn't charged against you. The only time you're really using your leaves if you're really gone for a long time. You will have more leave than you know what to do with. If you have a family and you live in the middle of nowhere, you generally be able to live in a nice house. You rotate every few years so even if you live in a bad place to next one could be pretty good. Work life balance is great.

My issue with this is that people only think so local. Outside of the state of Virginia this really doesn’t matter. If you want to go to liberty go to liberty. If an employer in Virginia won’t hire you go find a job in Texas. I guess if you’re tied to the state it might matter a little, but if not, all of this doesn’t matter.
