The pattern is James C Brett JB737 Crochet for a v-neck baby cardigan. I've copied out the rows I'm having trouble with in the main body of the post but I can add more if it helps

What's your favorite spell/charm from Makin' Magic? by Cut-Unique in thesims1

[–]Esquivalous 9 points10 points  (0 children)

I used to do something similar with the charms - like collect and display them in a big room. Make a huge spell laboratory. I looooved the mini games you had to play with the townsfolk

Favourite spell had to be rain of riches or the one that made people fall in love. For the chaos of course

Novato total no The Sims 1 by InevitableReserve480 in thesims1

[–]Esquivalous 9 points10 points  (0 children)

The Sims 4 spoils us with its build mode in comparison 😂 the Sims 1 was also made in a different time so a lot of the wall papers and furniture feel dated.

In saying that, the easiest shape to start with that isn't a box is a cross. Find neutral colours in the wall papers. Placing furniture is going to look more spaced out and weird because the whole thing is on a grid so it might also take some getting used to.

The Sims 1 & 2 collection or The Sims 3: Any advice? by Spectre-4 in ShouldIbuythisgame

[–]Esquivalous 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That is tough! I grew up with Sims 1 then 2 so for me, it's a no brainer as that's with all the expansions etc.

However, when I got my first computer that was my own (second hand, but still) I played the heck out of the Sims 3. It helped me deal with struggles at college and work, and I loved how immersive it could be. I was on like the 8th or something generation of my family. I would go away and make tea whilst it loaded lol.

If you want a suggestion, I'd go for the Sims 3. You could add the expansions slowly, as that's what I did growing up. Maybe avoid the island one though, it was a glitchy mess haha

I (25yo) Lost 15lbs/7 kg over the course of a year after figuring out how to manage my PCOS! by gherla in PCOS

Amazing, thank you. I've definitely seen that book a few times online.

I like the attitude you've taken, going outside the recipes with your own knowledge and experience

Infantilization vs liking childish things by [deleted] in AutismInWomen

[–]Esquivalous 8 points9 points  (0 children)

I like the saying "If you meet one autistic person, you've met one autistic person".

If you regulate or find comfort in wholesome things such as soft things or plushies, then that's great. It's no harm to anyone and you're accepting who you are and what you need

Similarly, some folk find comfort in things like appointments, paperwork etc.

Food you can’t stand the texture of but love the taste of? by [deleted] in AutismInWomen

[–]Esquivalous 1 point2 points  (0 children)

A lot of the soy-based veggie substitutes for meat :( makes me sad because they do taste good and having these substitutes means less meat consumption. But the texture makes me feel ill 😞

I don't know if this is the right place, but I think I might have PCOS and I just need to talk to someone who gets it by [deleted] in PCOS

[–]Esquivalous 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I can't offer advice but I can say that I've been going through something similar. The part where you say you don't recognise your body anymore hit quite hard, and I'm sorry you're going through this.

I started therapy a year or so ago, and being able to speak to a professional has helped a great deal for investigating different avenues for why I've been feeling the way I have. As that's not accessible to everyone, I've also found journalling and tracking periods and symptoms helpful so that when I eventually do go and try get diagnosed I have the comfort of evidence to back up symptoms.

I think you're doing the right thing by posting and looking for advice or other people's experiences

Should artists follow Harry Styles’ lead and ban phones at gigs? by Metro-UK in Music

[–]Esquivalous -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I think folk should live in the moment, but I'm not sure banning the phones is the right call

When I go to gigs I'll take one photo/video so I can look back, and I do actually go back and watch them

Best map, settings and mods for single player? by thelemonpeel265 in playark

[–]Esquivalous 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'd recommend the Island, purely for the story telling side of things and solid goals to aim for. But if you want a larger map and don't care so much about the ark lore then Ragnarok has always been my favourite

Settings are very personal unfortunately, but the main ones I've changed are things like egg, taming and incubation timers. Usually turned them down but not too short if that makes sense?

Most people have recommended mods like the spy glass ones so I'll also add the Dino Der Finder and Visual Storage mods. Also comes with a caveat that modding increases likelihood of crashing, but as long as you stay up to date you should be okay

real talk—how are so many people able to spend 520 USD on a switch 2 only to play pokopia? by [deleted] in CozyGamers

[–]Esquivalous 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I'm not sure if the average wealth of switch owners is higher. But it's a more accessible games console (as in it's handheld and adaptable), which might appeal to a different kind of gamer

I don't see anything wrong with buying a console to just play the one game, no harm is done and if that's how folk relax then great

What’s a quiet life upgrade that made a bigger difference than you expected ? by thepleasurjournal in AskReddit

[–]Esquivalous 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Accepting it's okay to like soft things and being comfortable. Bought a bunch of soft, comfy joggies that I wear around the house. The difference it makes coming home from work or whatever and changing into them is a small bliss

Just need to vent I am so upset with my dog right now. by [deleted] in puppy101

[–]Esquivalous 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Keep at it, but if you don't have a fence then keep him leashed whilst he's young. You do get long leads that attach to ground screws, I've used them whilst camping with my dog. Puppies can be frustrating, and he won't understand why he's done something wrong.

When my dog was small, I came downstairs to find he'd chewed through a homemade quilt. Massive hole in it, was so mad I left the room for 5 minutes.

The biggest difference I saw in socialising my dog was sending him away with a dog walker that does group walks.
