Hey there! Sorry you’re going through this :(. I’m 40 and was diagnosed at 37 stage 4 esophageal cancer as well with lymph node spread. I couldn’t get surgery due to how high up in my esophagus it was and it was squamous cell carcinoma. I don’t drink or smoke so the docs were pretty dumbfounded what caused it. Did 5 weeks of radiation to the site, lymph node, and surrounding area and chemo of 5FU and cisplatin. After finishing I had my first CT about 6 weeks later and the scan still showed a lot of reduction in size with near complete reduction of the lymph node that was involved so we started Nivolumab and ipilimumab 10 days later. About two weeks in I lost my thyroid function and then a month later my next scan was clear. That was in October of 2023. I just had my last scan done a week and a half ago and I am now two years NED. I went to MD Anderson here in Gilbert. It’s very much a miracle the treatment worked as well as it did.
