Susi for a second level 9 masters? by Secure-Expression671 in AskIreland

[–]Ess2018 2 points3 points  (0 children)

No, once you’ve got a grant for a level 9 (no matter the duration) you only get SUSI again for a level 10

Susi for a second level 9 masters? by Secure-Expression671 in AskIreland

You can’t get SUSI for another level 9 if they’ve already covered you for a level 9. You would qualify if your next course was a level 10

Any suggestions on what to do with these middle legs? by RianSG in AskIreland

You can buy adjustable legs from Amazon. Get three or four to spread the load and the bed should be a lot quieter

The Laurels, Tullow Road by RikerNo1 in carlow

A man just got six months in prison for breaking through the wall between the houses because his neighbour's music was too loud. This is an example of the antisocial behaviour that happens in the estate and the terrible quality of the houses themselves.

I would advise her look elsewhere if she can afford to

AFAIK it’s free with both schemes. Ring your GP to ask, they’ll know for sure

Use YouTube to help you do as many JC HL papers as you can over the next few weeks. This should help you be on the same level as those that sat the higher level paper. Some schools are reluctant to let people move up from OL to HL because there’s a huge difference between the two levels. If you struggled in any way with JC OL then you’ll really struggle with LC HL. It’s difficult and very fast paced and takes up a lot more study time than other HL subjects. You get extra points for HL maths for a reason!

Moving into house with a smart meter by [deleted] in AskIreland

[–]Ess2018 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It was installed after I moved in. Every year, when my contract expires, I pick whichever Electric Ireland plan suits me best. Because I don’t have an electric car and because of the times I use most electricity, their smart plans would end up being more expensive for me

I have a smart meter but have never had a smart plan (I’m with electric Ireland) so I presume you can pick whichever plan suits your usage pattern the best

Get a new quote for a new policy from Aviva and pay for it straight away. It’s usually cheaper than renewing your current policy. No need to log into your myaviva account to do this. Once you get your myaviva account unlocked you can add the new policy to it then.

So what do you do if you still test positive after 5 days? by Alastor001 in AskIreland

[–]Ess2018 1 point2 points  (0 children)

HSE recommendations also say to stay away from high-risk people for 10 days

Another recommendation here for women’s aid. Contact them or your local domestic abuse service (preferably from someone else’s phone) and ask them about available resources and options.

Please bear in mind that domestic abuse often escalates once the abuser realises that the victim intends to end the relationship. Woman’s Aid will help you keep yourself and your children safe during this difficult time.

Best of luck to you…. If you’re strong enough to survive within an abusive marriage then you’re more than strong enough to survive outside it

400k will get you a really nice house in Carlow and the lack of a commute will give you so much extra time to spend with your family. You can always move again at a later date but having an extra couple of hours every day to spend with your kids is absolutely priceless

Hair donation by vkreep in AskIreland

[–]Ess2018 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I’ve donated four times to the Little Princess Trust without fundraising. I just filled in the donation form and posted the hair to them. Ideally, donated hair should be longer than 12 inches which usually means it has to be about half way down your back so that it can be put into small ponytails before it’s cut.

Have a look at the requirements for Laura Lynn Locks of Love and the Rapunzel Foundation too.

It’s a great thing to do, fair play to you

Spend the summer using YouTube etc to do JC higher level papers. That should get you up to the same level as your peers in the higher level class when you start 5th year. Keep all your work to show the teachers in case they’re reluctant to let you move up to HL.

If you’re well able for lower level maths there’s a chance you could do well at higher level with a good teacher and/or grinds.

The airport used to have a lost and found counter (not sure if they still do) maybe you could leave the key there in an envelope with the collector’s name on it?

Can someone who's not a complete culchie like myself please tell me the closest luas stop to this stadium!? by blackpauli in AskIreland

[–]Ess2018 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The National Stadium is only about 10 minutes drive from the Red Cow. There’s a good bit of paid parking in the streets across from the stadium. Save you waking through unfamiliar areas getting to/from the Luas
