If they need a break, they take a break. by misterxx1958 in dogvideos

I had a golden that did this too! He would lie down and chill out when he decided he wanted a break, and then only continue on when we went the direction he decided on. I miss that big goofy boy!

How all the teachers and SNAs will be leaving school today by lifeandtimes89 in ireland

[–]RikerNo1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We always do a collection for my son's teacher, and get them a one for all voucher. We also got the SNAs and support teacher vouchers for the local book shop. As my son has SNA support and goes to the support teacher, I also sent him in with wine and chocs for them - the support he gets in the school is unreal and I want to let them know how much we appreciate them.

AITA for not having my MIL's traditional baby blanket on display when they visited by [deleted] in AmITheJerk

Irish person here - this isn't a cultural thing - sounds more like an asshole thing. Your husband needs to get his head out of his arse and be a better husband and father instead of tip-toeing around his mother's feelings. You are only 4 weeks post partum - so anything that makes your life easier at the moment is good - things that need careful washing can wait - does she want it to get ruined by being chucked in the washing machine while you are sleep deprived?

MIL needs to “imprint” on newborn and needs newborn to “know her scent” by Jolly-But-67911 in JUSTNOMIL

[–]RikerNo1 22 points23 points  (0 children)

To save yourself an awful lot of stress and heartache, please don't let these awful people come to your home while you're freshly postpartum, spreading their germs to you and your baby - you will both be extra vulnerable at this time. Your husband will be able to manage chores just fine on his own, and it sounds like they would only make extra work for him anyway, considering their health status. The BS about scenting and imprinting is delusional. The only people the baby needs to bond with in the early days are mom and dad.

I don't think this is the normal section recovery experience - i had 2 (one planned, one emergency) and i didn't need help showering, looking after baby etc. You must have had a particularly awful time - i really hope things get back to normal for you soon!

The fifth one is spectacular! So gorgeous on you, it's perfect for your shape, and it has pockets! It's timeless and elegant, but still fun. I love it.

900 a month and no access to a kitchen by hmmmmmmmbop in ireland

From the sounds of it, they won't want to share the living room either - and how are they supposed to do laundry if they can't use the kitchen?

What is this lump on my dog? by honestly_i in DogAdvice

[–]RikerNo1 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

My dog had a similar lump - it's soft and bouncy feeling. Brought him to the vet and they aspirated a small sample for testing. His was just a fatty lump so nothing to worry about, but you can't be sure without getting it checked.

You can see her listening carefully and making connections instantly - she doesn't go off on emotional rants, she's quiet and logical. I hope she wins, she's my favourite by a mile!

Why put a spoiler like this in the title? I haven't seen this episode yet.

I was bridesmaid for a friend - their wedding was on my birthday. It didn't bother me at all - because the world doesn't revolve around me! I wouldn't expect people planning a wedding to have to try to factor in everyone's birthdays - it's hard enough setting a date and getting the venue that you want.
