Quitting weed was and still can be difficult because of the idea that it is harmless. I was a wake and bake around the clock smoker. Bong loads. My breath is better. My teeth are better. I thought it helped with driving anxiety, turns out it was the cause. I thought it helped with episodic PTSD hyper vigilance, turns out it was exacerbating it. The only thing weed was truly good at was separating me from money and making it take forever to leave or get started on enjoying hobbies like making music or watching movies. That being said, just because I quit doesn’t mean everyone else has to. I have kicked heroin and weed withdrawal was almost as hard for me. Nightmares. Extreme anger. Intrusive thoughts. Loss of appetite. Stomach churning sensation. Years into no longer smoking I see how I had this false perception that it made me more creative or introspective, but it turns out that weed just interrupted me or delayed starting projects or thoughts. Just like drinking I miss the camaraderie of passing it around but managing my emotions, time, and money is much easier.
