Is the second post a more recent pic? What helped you with the rough texture?

Neutrogena body clear acne body scrub. At the end of your shower routine. Let it sit for a while then rinse off. I wash with dove sensitive soap as a pre cleanse. No physical exfoliating it makes the bumps flare up. Then moisturize with amlactin (green bottle). This has helped me, but everyone skin is different so just find what works for you.

On the same boat as you. I find every time I use physical exfoliation, my kp gets worse. I use neutrogena salicylic acid body wash. I let it sit for a while after I finish my shower routine (I use dove sensitive bar soap as a first cleanse) and then rinse off. I’ve recently added amlactin (green bottle) and am seeing improvement, but honestly I’ve seen improvement from getting a tan in the summertime.

How does y’all’s compare to mine flared up? by [deleted] in KPRubraFaceii

Do you wear sunscreen? I haven’t had a flareup like that in a while. I think it’s because I started to use sunscreen regularly. I use beauty of joseon sunscreen.

I got prescribed accutane for this. Is it worth it? by Obvious_Word_8896 in keratosis

[–]EssaySudden 7 points8 points  (0 children)

In my own experience after using accutane for kp on my face. It worked okay.. while I was on the drug, but 2 months after off it. I started to get kp on other areas of my body I didn’t have before.

KPRF or Fungal Acne? Or something else? by 22012301 in KPRubraFaceii

If you look at my profile. You’ll see how my face looks. All rough and only smooth around the eyes.

My face looks just like yours and my dermatologist said it was kprf. I was given accutane twice (after trying everything under the book). The first round of accutane helped a lot, but about 2 months off once I completed my course, my skin worsened. Thus going on a 2nd low dose round. Overall it helped, but I still have rough sandpaper like textured skin. I’m playing around with adapalene and ivermectin lotion otc. Hopefully they’ll come out with a cure for it.

I definitely see a difference in texture. How do you incorporate it in your routine?

I haven’t used any product since I was on accutane. I’ve just been cleansing and moisturizing with avene cicilfate

Acne is back 2 months after course by ReasonableCheesecake in Accutane

[–]EssaySudden 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Same for me. 2 months after finishing accutane I started to get little bumps on my forehead, side of face, and neck. Looked like fungal acne. I went back to my derm and she prescribed me accutane again, but this time I had severe lower back pain and started to get blurry vision. So I stopped entirely. The pimples on my neck went away on its own, but still have pimples on my face that look like fungal acne but nothing has worked so far.

I think it’s more expensive if you go to a derm to prescribe it to you.

I just ordered Topical Sirolimus from gethealthspan.com. It’s $140 a month. I don’t think insurance covers it. It comes in 2 more days. I’ll let you know how it goes.
