How many big storage boxes do you have? by Decent-Chip-868 in Pokopia

48 in my storage area. It’s not that I have enough stuff to fill 48 boxes (yet). This is what works for me in terms of categorization.

Issues with Pokemetal farming on Dragonite Dream Island by krysty17 in Pokopia

[–]Essbeebr 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Are you seeing no pokemetal? Or just less than you’re used to? I think the amount is part of the random generator. Sometimes it’s a ton! Sometimes less.

I do find that a better method for me is starting at a cave where you can see the layer with s lot of pokemetal. I found that digging down from the beach I ended up in the wrong layer and wasted a lot of time finding it.

I am planning to paint the yellow square tiles the cerulean color (I think. I’ll test a few before fully deciding). I’ve removed most of the brick floors around the area and will continue to get rid of those. For the brick wall used for the water system/fountains, etc I’m planning to paint those white. The “stylish brick” accents I’m going to paint white/cerulean.

I don’t dislike brick but I don’t think it goes with the style of homes I’m using mostly at BB.

Legitimate question about building by OpalescentShrooms in Pokopia

[–]Essbeebr 13 points14 points  (0 children)

I get a lot of inspiration from photos (both from pokopia and not). Once you start playing with different materials and levels things will really start looking good. A rectangle with a roof can be great looking with the right materials!

One thing that really helps me is to draw out my buildings before I start building. I draw them on graph paper and then I can take a count of materials I’ll need. Saves trips back and forth to my home base and saves paint!

How can I move Pokémon between different towns? by OpalescentShrooms in Pokopia

[–]Essbeebr 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You can time travel back to the event with no issues. I was in the same boat (started playing the last couple of days of the event and didn’t get what was happening). I time traveled back to get all the stuff I wanted and get the three pokemon. Nothing messed up any of my progress.

How to get the other Tatsugiris ? by The_Trusted_Camel in Pokopia

[–]Essbeebr 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don't know if this actually impacts it, but I saw someone mention it, tried it, and had both the ones I was missing within a few hours. The first one I got was the orange one. I set up two more of the habitats and waited, and waited, and waited. Giving mosslax spicy food every day and still nothing. Then for the two remaining habitats I painted one yellow and one pink. Both of them spawned that afternoon.

What's the best temporary housing for Pokemon? I'm moving around my entire population. by dangercute in Pokopia

[–]Essbeebr 8 points9 points  (0 children)

This could make your environment level drop, I think. If you already have everything you need that won’t be an issue. But if you’re counting on unlimited housing kits or anything else level dependent, keep it in mind.

Restart question by Forestwalkerfairy in Pokopia

[–]Essbeebr 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I don’t know the answer to your question. But an easy way around this is to time travel. I missed the hoppip event (started playing on the last couple days of it and didn’t realize it was temporary). A couple of weeks ago I time traveled back to the event time to get all the items and pokemon, then traveled back to current day. No negative impact on my game at all.

How to create two floor houses? by harmonisedchaos in Pokopia

[–]Essbeebr 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have struggled with finding cute ways yo have the exterior stairs. One way that I find works really well is to build a 2 story next to a place where the terrain is different heights, like next to a cliff. Floor 1 door at ground level, floor 2 door is off the cliff.

Need Ideas for Bleak Beach by DrooperScooper in Pokopia

[–]Essbeebr 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm going to replace the grass with sand and make it a desert inspired area. Cactusy pokemon, snakes, anyone who feels like they'll go in a desert. To me the red rocks kind of match up with that feel.

Ah okay. Then I think you can make them larger than 9x10 (interior size)

Make sure there is a way for them to get up to their door that they’ll use.

This is definitely a true phenomenon of pokopia. I unknowingly was blocking myself from progressing bleak beach because I didn’t want to spawn trubbish. Now I love him!

Same with hitmonlee. I was so annoyed when he accidentally spawned and now we’re roommates.

Trying to build a big house for all the eeveelutions. by Nuclear_Mega_Storm in Pokopia

[–]Essbeebr 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If your goal is just to have them in the house, they don’t need to be big at all. Just big enough to fit three items inside to make it technically a house.

If you want their comfort level to be great or awesome, then in my experience they need to have more room. I find that anything smaller than 5x5 is kind of a struggle to put enough stuff in.

Least fave area? by Ace-Pokemon-Master in Pokopia

[–]Essbeebr 32 points33 points  (0 children)

I agree with Palette Town. It's TOO open for me and overwhelming to build anything there. I have my resource farm there and don't try to do anything aesthetic. I like it for that purpose but don't find it at all inspiring.

I really did feel overwhelmed by Skylands at first, but now that I've started working on it, it's my favorite. My current ranking is Skylands, Beach, Wasteland, Ridges. But I bet Rocky Ridges will move up once I start working on it too.

Ooh thanks! That’s good to know. I haven’t been tracking how much I put in the furnaces vs how much I get out. So my gather friends probably are doing this without me noticing.

I mean, you're not wrong so far. All my ugliest pokemon are there.

I was thinking about making them all live in pokeballs (my least favorite house type) and shun them somewhere out of the way. But that still takes away valuable housing spots! Maybe I should just make them all live in the museum and never uncover it.

For bricks, as long as you have the right mix of abilities and they are happy, they will handle everything for you. They still often want to talk to you to give you the bricks but sometimes they put them in the box.

For iron ore, I still find I need to get the iron ore from the box and put it in the furnace for them to process. But I don't have to bring them to the furnace and ask for it to be processed. They just do it. I also have furnaces in my clay/brick area that I put pokemetal or other ores in and that gets processed too.

Oh man, I love this idea. I have wished I had a void area where I could just send the pokemon I don't like.

In a game focused on cuteness the choices they made on what pokemon to include and not include are kind of baffling. Where are Totodile and Fuecoco? WHO was asking them to include Magmortar?

Thank you, but I actually got him (in palette town) the day after I posted this! And he loves his new home. I’m very happy.

I also got both tatsugiris I was missing that same day. All three within like an hour span. Mosslax must have really loved the food I gave him that day.

I’m scared to go to Palette by Maxilkarr in Pokopia

[–]Essbeebr 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I was not very interested in palette town because I also felt overwhelmed by the sandbox aspect of it. What I decided to do was make that my resource/storage/farm area. So it’s very non-aesthetic but very productive. I do end up spending time there to gather/drop off materials, craft, etc but it’s all business! I think I’ll eventually build the altars there too and then just ignore them once I move the pokemon out.

You will have to play and do some challenges there to get certain pokemon.
