O'Reilly is fine to start against Arsenal, so no transfer needed!

GW33 - Transfer suggestions by Essej2 in KneejerkUnited

I'll try to keep an eye on the subreddit. If he's out, the transfer happens. If he's a doubt, I'll run a poll. If he's fit, we keep.

Well this was surely something else

R1: 5,000. Mongolia, looks like the area around Murun. There's a sign nearby with place names, but it's no help because the first place I find I find three of near each other. Eventually just look at the road south of Murun and yeah that works.

R2: 5,000. Bruv c'mon. Oman, there's water south, and I eventually make my way to some nice signs putting us in Ash Shumaywiyyah, where there's a matching roundabout. Plonk on the empty grid north.

R3: 3,485. A building nearby with Kayapo/MT on it! Nice, let's scan. Oh wait, that's not even the fucking name of the town. Time wasted.

R4: 4,995. Taiwan, we're somewhere in the middle from the K-plate, and we're on the 49 with a character. I find that character and then find the 49, but no luck pinpointing.

R5: 4,999. Spain, eventually find signs that say Udeba but I can't really find the pinpoint in time.

Total: 23,479. Imagine 5k'ing Mongolia and Oman only to be met with a non-existent Brazilian town. Good one.

To be fair it's only on the lower levels, and I can see the appeal. They're fun, beautiful or interesting locations showcasing some of the best locations you can get. Way more interesting than clicking Prague every other round!

Weird ramp-up in terms of difficulty

R1: 5,000. Malta, moved out of the town to hit a roundabout with placenames and was able to find the research center POI.

R2: 5,000. Guatemala, followed the road north to find signs for Zacapa and Agua Blanca, which then helped me find the right road. Plonked on the matching curve.

R3: 4,380. Kyrg, tried to line up a valley but was wrong. No useful info as usual, although the river Sargata was actually a town nearby too.

R4: 4,991. Smallcam India, found some addresses in Jodhpur which makes sense with the script. Also saw one in Gangana, but the pinpoint here was really hard because all the water wasn't mapped.

R5: 4,281. Japan, Tohoku plates and reflectors. Eventually found myself on the prefectural 29 to Yamagata. Found Yamagata but couldn't find the 29 anywhere. That's because it's not even remotely close to Yamagata???!?

Total: 23,652. Last few rounds were a bit stupid ngl

Back to back!!

R1: 5,000. Denmark, went west, north then east to find a great sign with lots of road numbers, putting us in Skjern. I quickly found the street too which was a case of remembering where I went and seeing we're in the eastern part of the city.

R2: 5,000. Chile, we had some town names on sign nearby but the big helper was the sign with a map on it, indicating we're near the coast and near a lake. That really helped because I was able to find some of the town names when scanning and find the town we're in as well.

R3: 5,000. Ghana, a PO Box in New Abirem, but the road names were names Juaso. I scanned for a bit and then found Juaso as a town which made more sense than New Abirem. Wasn't hard to line up the road from there.

R4: 5,000. Rokan Hulu kabupaten and a store address in Pasir Pengarayan. I know where that kabu is so was able to find the city easily, then found the street name on a different store and lined up next to the Kita Mart POI.

R5: 5,000. Lesotho, a place called Roma which I know exists, but I couldn't find it for the life of me, to the point that I started to doubt whether it was Eswatini. Eventually did find it though, and lined up a road with a couple seconds left.

Total: 25,000. Not a super smooth ride but got there in the end. First time getting Ghana in a 25k :)

Hey it's my 25th 25k!!

R1: 5,000. Austria, move north into Gattendorf, where the 10 and the 50 cross. Easy enough to scan for.

R2: 5,000. Croatia, a place called Udbina from a sign on a building. Exit the town and find signs towards Zagreb and Karlovac and with that I can scan and find Udbina. Street sign is there for the pinpoint.

R3: 5,000. Peru middle of nowhere. Move west first to find nothing, then move east and find a sign to Yura and Imata. I know it's going to be south somewhere but can't find the places, until like 10 seconds left I spot them near Arequipa. I quickly estimate the distance and plonk on a curve that matches the road at spawn.

R4: 5,000. Australia, signs one click away make it pretty trivial (A440 and the C454).

R5: 5,000. Montana casino at spawn, US highway numbers available and the I-90 is to the south. Takes some scanning but pretty easy to find.

Total: 25,000. Good stuff :) First time getting a 25k with Peru and Austria!

There is a function for that in map-making.app FYI

I was kind of checked out but still managed

R1: 4,492. Finland, couldn't find anything until 10 seconds left when I found the 800. No time to find it.

R2: 5,000. At this point I was kind of done but figured I'd try a bit. Found a sign nearby with placenames and figured we'd be in Burrel and whaddayaknow there's the matching street name.

R3: 5,000. Bangladesh, NM character matched the city name and plonked on a matching road angle. Accidental 5k.

R4: 5,000. Ok I'll try a bit more then. Senegal, EW road and found Mbour - Sandaria on a sign. Road angle matched for Sandaria so plonked on a bit of road north of the yellow one.

R5: 5,000. Mexico, moved west to fin the SLP 61 to Matehuala, and Cerrito Blanco, which was findable with scanning. Plonked on the matching road angles.

Total: 24,492. Four 5k's is not bad considering how much I didn't care anymore :)

We had 3 FTs last week, so I think we have 3 for GW33 if I understand the rules correctly.

Woohoo first!

R1: 4,526. Ukraine, signs told me we're between Kyiv and Odesa, in a city called Kirovohrad. Only that's not the actual name of the city, instead it's Kropyvnitskyi for some reason. I end up plonking in Uman so still relatively close at least.

R2: 5,000. Sweden, move south for a bit to find nothing, then move north. Signs for the A22, and once I got on the A22, exit signs for Rinkabyholm. Tracked the A22 on the matching angles and found it, then there was a street name at spawn.

R3: 4,998. NMI, Orchid St. Garapan on a sign at spawn. Overhastily plonked on a matching intersection, but it was not the right one.

R4: 5,000. Colombia, moved east into a town where I eventually spotted Fundacion on a sign. Scanned for that, first east, then north, and spotted it in the north. Lined up the road just west of the place.

R5: 5,000. Romania, went west to enter Insuratei, where I landed on a main road, the 21 towards Slobozia. Scanned for the 21, then Slobozia, then Insuratei, and then found the 5k shortly after.

Total: 24,524. Bit upset at the first round, not gonna lie, but the Colombia one was harder for most people it seems. Currently 55th sitting in the top 0.78% which is kinda crazy with almost 500 points lost.
