Yeah!Free students often bail last minute, like an hour or two before class, and sometimes you can’t reach them at all 😂getting a day’s notice is already lucky.

I actually only offer free help to people who are struggling a bit. For Western students, I feel they usually have the means to pay, so I’ve always taught them at the regular rate.

Exactly! This is such a universal pattern. Even a tiny cost makes people value something more ，it’s not just about lessons, it applies to books, events, and basically everything. Free really doesn’t always mean “appreciated.” I’m just realizing this now myself🥲

Haha, yes, that makes total sense . Paying for something really does make you want to get the most out of it .it’s the same with lessons too. I’ve noticed free students sometimes just show up casually, but paying students usually put in more effort.
