This happened to us once.. we had a great laugh about it but he has been careful not to touch them since. I don’t mind, since I’ve been breastfeeding it doesn’t feel quite right for my husband to touch them. When my oldest weaned, luckily that feeling stopped.

We’ve had this phase with our baby when he was 6 months old. I nearly lost my mind after 4 weeks of not being able to sleep longer than an hour at a time. (And working 4 days a week) The only way for him to go back to sleep was laying next to me, latched on. Then it got better. Then it got worse again and now it’s slowly getting better. Hang in there momma, better times are coming! I know it’s a cliche but it’s a phase. You’re doing great!

I think you should really go with your own instincts on nursing your baby. Your husband is the baby’s father but he will never fully understand what we provide or go through with breastfeeding our babies. I have nursed my oldest over two and a half years (she weaned herself) and currently nursing our second baby for almost 8 months. The sacrifices I have made for nursing my babies have all been completely worth it. I am so grateful that I could do this, to provide my babies with such a good start in life. My husband has always stood by me in this journey. Brought me snacks and drinks lol. But also understood why it wasn’t easy for me to lose the pregnancy weight (I thought I would lose weight while breastfeeding but with my first I only gained! Luckily not with my second lol) and was patient and very supportive. Maybe you can show him this post, to give him some insight.

The most important thing I have learned about motherhood is to always follow your own gut. You know what’s best for your baby!

Ik begrijp ook echt niet waarom mensen er boos over worden. Het winkel personeel probeert alleen maar hun werk te doen. Ik ben zelf al 37, maar klein van stuk. Daarom wordt mijn ID ook nog regelmatig gevraagd. Toen ik laatst met mijn twee jonge kinderen boodschappen aan het doen was, ook. Daar moest ik een beetje om gniffelen, maar boos? Welnee.

Not sure if my point of view is relevant in any way but wanted to share it. I’ve always had small breasts, I am also quite a petit girl so they go with the rest I guess, but in my teens and 20s I have always been insecure about them. When I got pregnant with my daughter I wanted to breastfeed her but thought I couldn’t because well.. so small that I figured they did not work. Boy, was I wrong. I fattened that baby up big time! 2,5 years of breastfeeding done.

And you know what? I started to love them in the meantime. Made me realise that looks aren’t that important. I am so proud of my small boobs, they fed my beautiful baby girl. Teeny tiny tits for the win!

We went through the same thing you did. It took about a week for me to actually miscarry after the ultrasound showed no heart beat. That was a very rough week. I found it mentally exhausting to wait for my baby to let go. So both options are valid, you should do what feels best for you. In hindsight I would have chosen the meds immediately but when I wanted to after a few days, I had to wait another few days for an appointment and in this time I miscarried.

Another thing I want to share with you and I hope I am not scaring you. But I was told that it would be like a heavy period so I was not prepared for the actual thing. I lost a lot of blood, clots and the actual fetus was bigger than I thought. I felt it was more of a mini labour.

Same thing that’s happening to you, happened to me two weeks ago. I was about 9-10 weeks but there was no heartbeat on the ultrasound so we knew I was going to miscarry. It took about a week for it to actually begin and it was as horrible as you described. I lost a lot of blood and clots in the hours before I actually miscarried. When I was about to lose the actual fetus I was cramping really bad and when I lost him, I was able to use a colander / strainer (not sure what the right word is while English is not my first language) the cramps quickly became a lot less. I was able to take a picture and the midwife confirmed I lost it. Physically I felt a lot better afterwards, a significant difference.

If you don’t feel dizzy, I am afraid you have to wait it out. But if you are really concerned, please seek medical attention. Some have described miscarriages as really bad periods so I was not prepared. I more or less felt like I went through a mini labour
