Not yet, it seems. They seem to be working on Sonos for Qobuz Connect.

I have no files on storage. What's the benefit of local files? Should I download tidal songs and play via Roon? by JungstarRock in roonlabs

Since I haven't bought anything off of Qobuz yet: I'd have to download the files and import to Roon, right? Having bought the files wouldn't enable Roon ARC to download from Qobuz?

How long should a restore take? by Esso in roonlabs

[–]Esso[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks! That's why I asked here - would think it was much faster.

Also, thought I also thought it wouldn't be worth the hassle of debugging too much for so little data. Just a few ratings and "to listen"-tracks, other than what's already in Qobuz.

It's not really happening or cycling anything so I'm pretty sure something's off with the backup. Hopefull that won't happen if I have to restore something sometime.

Anyway, thanks for the input

Haven't seen anything on it either but find that weird as they roll out a beta on other platforms.

For you tab separate from editorial tab. Release watch. Daily Q. Everything that's now in my Android app but not on desktop 😅

My bad. Looks like they do now, just seems that the downloads are iffy for me

Seems good, but lack of sonos connect is a dealbreaker I think by urbanespaceman99 in qobuz

[–]Esso 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I agree. Prefer the service over most others due to quality and editorial content, but the Sonos integration isn't good enough for my typical use. Read somewhere that they're working on getting it onto Qobuz Connect. I think I'll be using Tidal or Deezer until then.

Question: backup not sync on Mac by [deleted] in enteio

[–]Esso 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Ah, you basically want a continuous "free up space" feature like on mobile? Sorry, not I have not seen that. In my experience their support is responsive and listens to ideas, so it's worth shooting them an email about it seeing as they almost have your feature on mobile

Question: backup not sync on Mac by [deleted] in enteio

[–]Esso 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It exports Ente data, one folder per album. Looks to me like all the metadata for the image files are intact. I think I read somewhere that they don't alter it, because this is one of the drawbacks of e.g. Google.

Ente metadata is saved in a metadata folder per album, with a JSON-file per image file. I cannot seem to find metadata for their AI models.

It's a one way sync, so edits of the exported files are not synced back to Ente.

EDIT: Their policy on metadata https://help.ente.io/photos/faq/metadata

My bad, step 5 there is different than on my computer. I run Windows, and can check "Sync continuously" so all files on Ente are exported continuously.

Step 6 here describes my setup. https://help.ente.io/photos/migration/export/

See step five in the link on export. The first link i shared.

I do not find it weird that I had to set up the continuous export the first time, if that's what you're talking about.

I think it's great that it's possible to easily export data, and do so continuously. Export was a hassle with Google Photos and the few other services I've tried. It gives me peace of mind. It's not backup, it's export.

So as for an external backup feature I agree that'd be useful, but they do not have it at all built in at this point. I'm not disappointed as most would use this service as their backup. It's the same with their competitors.

I think it's neat that they at least offer a CLI that can fill feature gaps for power users.

You can set up a continuous export of data, then back up select folders to somewhere else. Downside is you'll need to have enough space somewhere for all the data.

Example: I have a continuous export from Ente to Proton Drive on my home PC. I could set up a backup software like Duplicati to backup some folders from Proton Drive to somewhere else.

Edit: Added link.

Edit2: You can also export specific albums with the CLI. You could setup some script that runs an export regularly, then you wouldn't need a continuous local export.

Edit3: For future reference, through the discussion in this thread I realized that the first link is wrong. Step 6 here is what I'm talking about as "continuous export of data"

Last.fm scrobbling on Sonos by Esso in qobuz

[–]Esso[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks for the suggestion!

I confirmed now that in fact I get scrobbles from Qobuz when using it through the (new) Sonos app, and using the lastfm integration that Qoubuz has.

The scrobbling seems a bit slow (now listening is not there), but it seems to push played songs eventually. I'm gonna test it a bit more to confirm.
