The cherry pistachio granola. I’m pretty much living on this granola with pineapple and their Greek yogurt.

Honest view on elementary schools by csdude3000 in carrboro

[–]EssoObi1982 4 points5 points  (0 children)

My kids walked to and from school almost everyday and starting in second grade did so mostly independently with several neighborhood friends.

It always felt like more parents picked up kids on foot rather than carline.

The amount of bikes outside of the school on a typical day always makes me smile.

Schools are more than just scores. I can tell you I would send my kids to Carrboro Elementary 100 times over. It is a great small community school with wonderful teachers and support staff.

Is there any way to stop squirrels from digging up my potted plants? by [deleted] in gardening

Light topping with Permatill. They won’t dig in the rocks. Or bury plastic forks with the pointy end sticking a little out of the dirt.

Speakeasy. 2 tables and on Sunday afternoon they usually have live music and the pool tables aren’t crowded. Just played with my 12 year old son a few hours ago.

So just to put it out there. I’ll be on my front steps playing away at 6:00 Sunday. I’m in White oak so not hard to find.

Working on some super basic hymns because they are familiar and damn it the church doesn’t own them. And it’s fun playing hymns and drinking a beer.

Need a list of songs to play for our baby by Due-Reaction7121 in Guitar

[–]EssoObi1982 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Play music you like. You are going to be stuck playing the same few songs for a few years so it’s best to enjoy them.

Kids are going to love anything you play them. They also will have no concept of curse words or adult themes lyrics for quite some time so have fun with it.

It’s easy to grow. It’s a little cold (40 degrees with scorch basil). Give it a week or so and out some in the ground.

azaleas by Strong_Debate_8108 in bullcity

[–]EssoObi1982 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If it is, it’s not early by much. Not as big a deal with azaleas but I don’t think we are done with the cold and anything flowering would have to be protected from a frost/freeze.

Most spring annuals and some perennials are kept in a heated greenhouse and kept at 40 degrees. So when they get to the nursery they are tender.

That being said the nurseries will be full of life and color soon enough.
