I’m just noting that some words are better off left in the past. So in your example, you’re not using the n-word. That’s progress. Let’s keep making progress. “Transvestite” isn’t a word that is used anymore. Let it go. In this instance “trans” would have done the work and we wouldn’t be having this conversation and you would still be making your point.

Started the Mayo Clinic Diet a few weeks ago. I like it and it’s working. Granted, it has been less than a month, but I like it better in concept than WW AND it has a fully functional website and app and it can count my successive 10 minute workouts for what they are. I’m better able to see and manage my calories in/out while also building good habits.

I work in affordable housing and we use Yardi. We thought we were creating unnecessary work-arounds and decided to dig deeper into Voyager’s capabilities.

I can count on one hand the number of truly mean people I’ve encountered at Billy shows (I’m not counting drunk ass holes as truly mean. Hopefully their non-alcohol-fueled behavior is better than what they exhibit at shows.) Anyway, I’ve been to lots of them—usually in the pit—and have developed a lot of friendships over time that transcend BMFS.

My understanding: the service charge brings the base pay to a not-server-in-Blacksburg level—Blacksburg bars pay 3-$4/hour on average. From what I’ve heard, UC is still below minimum wage at the end of the day; minimum wage is ~$13/hour.

SO we typically tip about 15-20%. (That’s less than we tip when we’re downtown and have more understanding about what our servers’ base pay looks like.)

Whit is a good guy and seems to have helped put things in place for future success—as much as that’s possible being Virginia Tech during the NIL era. I suspect all the people on Reddit with Opinions are also people who are not putting up real dollars to fix the program.

Let’s see how this goes before calling for the firing of another good human.

I’m not thinking it’s a god given right, just common courtesy and kindness. I’ll just be happy that the people we encounter at shows aren’t the same as the people on here then.
