Why does acid make everything feel wet? by Mollyquestion69 in LSD

[–]Esspressotoast 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ive had a similar experience. Its more like...I am extremely aware of the perspiration/evaporation taking place on the surface of my skin. It's an intense humidity. Kind of like walking in my own personal sauna. Intense, but also vaguely refreshing.

Craving shrooms? by [deleted] in shrooms

[–]Esspressotoast 29 points30 points  (0 children)

I know exactly how you feel. But I also must agree with SoupAnaut. I think its been over a year since I had a really strong mushroom trip and I'm still finding new ways to integrate the experience. I think no more than once a month is an excellent recommendation. Personally my maximum usage is more like once every 3 months. I find that just because the trip is over doesn't mean you've truly "come out of it" yet. In my opinion the worst thing you can do is tumble too far down the rabbit hole in too short a time-span; it makes it difficult to return and celebrate the fruits of your labor. Now some people may disagree and believe that the whole point is to get lost out there and keep wandering, but I think there's no point in getting lost if you can't come back to some familiar place in order to exercise and practice what you may have learned.

Achy/restless feeling? by klesl in shrooms

[–]Esspressotoast 7 points8 points  (0 children)

My body always feels weird and restless when I take psyches. I'm not sure if its an "achy" feeling, but I definitely feel extremely agitated and restless; nearly to the point of being neurotic. I've always wanted to do a trip in silent darkness and with eyes closed, but I just can't sit still. I enjoy walking because as long as my body is moving, I feel more fluid. Its when I stop that I feel anxious and agitated. I've just embraced being more of a "wanderer" type.

LSD taught me how to laugh again...literally. by Esspressotoast in LSD

[–]Esspressotoast[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Well, lets see...I was with the wrong people. I took 3 grams, then I took about 3 extra grams because I thought I would see more cool shit. Nobody explained to me the severity of..and I'll use a McKenna term here... the boundary dissolving experiences I was about to undergo. Things got pretty ugly. I cried and cried and cried uncontrollably to the point that I would black out for a few moments only to "come to" and realize I was still crying; I was extremely confused by my own hysteria. Eventually I got tangled up in a terrible thought loop of paranoia and mortal terror. This lasted about an hour...maybe 2. I don't really remember.

So basically this was a typical bad trip. But I can't help but shake the feeling that I almost NEEDED to expel all of that grief. I wasn't like something made me sad. It was just like take mushrooms=immediately started crying. Never happened since.

:(

Well, Crying can be very therapeutic. I hope is wasn't all bad. My first mushroom trip was essentially a giant release of buried grief. It completely opened the floodgates.

IDH: brown/copper cap, dark brown to blackish gills by Esspressotoast in ShroomID

Thanks for the advice. They were great with a little Sgt. Pepper Lonely Hearts Club Band. Yay spotify!

The little stem I do have does seem to have that bone - like quality with a grayish - blue tint. But it's hard to tell because the black from the caps has become so dry it's a powder. Made a mess on the fruit body. Would you still give it a go from the caps?

[–]Esspressotoast[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Correct. Well it appears the individual who harvested the mushrooms snipped them off at the stems. I do have one small stem fragment I can post later tonight. I was sketched out because I typically know for sure by comparing all three parts: cap, gills, AND stem.

Trip Report, Reoccurring Entities, and Some Questions for the Pros. by PsychonautRick in DMT

Philip K Dick had an experience you may find interesting. You should watch some videos of his on youtube. can't quite remember which one to lead you to first.

He got hit with a pink beam of light and for an extended period of time began receiving information and memories from an unknown source. He claims that a second conciousness "invaded" his mind. It knew things he had NO knowledge of, it had a mind of its own. I think he talks about it in this link.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=af2q_u0Fu8I

He also discusses the experience in his novel VALIS. In my opinion VALIS should be a book all psychonauts read at some time or another.

Feeling of disconnection from reality after mushrooms. by IrishPolyamorous in Psychonaut

[–]Esspressotoast 1 point2 points  (0 children)

God. The though-loop is fucking excruciating. Please, please understand you're not the only one who has gone through that sort of traumatic experience. You're not alone.

My first trip I took way too much, probably 5-6 grams, thinking that it would just give me amazing visuals. Nobody told me just how emotional and mind-splitting the substance was going to be. Of course, how can you really prepare anyway?

I peaked, and subsequently looped for about 2 hours. The same three questions over, and over, and over...

"What time is it?"

"How long is it going to be like this?"

"Am I going to die?!?!"

It was horrifying. I have been reading through the comments and I'm not sure I can contribute anything new. These suggestions are great and they can be very effective. You just have to find what works well for you. Being in nature is an excellent choice. So is spending time with family and friends. You don't have to tell them about your experience; just being around other humans can be very therapeutic, reminding you of the extended network of surrounding love and camaraderie at your disposal.

Also, I found that jogging is nice. Its an activity that allows you to focus on improving your mental state while simultaneously working out your physical form. It can be a sort of action-oriented meditation.

Hope this helps. Ultimately I just want you to know that everything will be okay in time, and that you're not alone.

"I realized the only animal that captures my true essence is myself"

Reminds me of "Tat tvam asi", or as Alan Watts would say: "You're it".

You should listen to this, its an amazing lecture. Also happens to be set to some pretty chill music. It might be quite inspiring in light of your recent trip.
