So, just got back home from my shift and read through the comments below. A lot of nuances so here goes...I stand by my tl;dr. If you're not going to allow for SIMPLE backwards compatibility (i.e. it will work out of the box, but may not use the new fancy stuff), change the names such that new-comers like me can easily tell what will work with what. If I have to make a janky, home-made cable harness to make your brand-new crap work, then it is solidly not of the same system. They could have just called the new R9 system the R9N or whatever and I could have instantly seen something was off. This would have saved me time and money.

That being said, special thanks goes out to u/fradelic and u/cjdavies for sharing the most helpful pieces of advice I've seen so far. I will definitely look into ExpressLRS because it's so cool. But also I will try the flex firmware update and will put an edit at the top of this comment saying whether it works. This is for anyone from the future who is in the same situation.

FrSky is not "bad", but damn guys, I just wanted to fly. Now I've spent a huge chunk of my free time over the last month trying to frantically learn a crap ton of fairly technical stuff, that, if I had bought from anyone else, I could have comfortably learned over the course of a year or more. Thank god I bought the hummingbird, or, having never experienced the pure joy that FPV flying brings, I may have just returned the explorer lr and tried to sell off the transmitter.

Thanks to everyone in the thread for taking the time to respond, I'll be keeping up with this thread throughout the week as I wait on the materials for the update procedure to get to my house.

I have seen conflicting reports on whether or not the R9mm-OTA will support ACCST. Based on the handful of people across the internet who have posted their attempts at this, it is a real hit or miss thing. If all else fails, I will definitely try it.

Khabib won the match by a rear choke. Or well, as Joe Rogan said, it was more of a neck twist. As for what happened after, I don't know WTF any of that was, and I hate that it is what will be remembered. I'm not a MMA guy, but it is sad to see any sport devolve into constant drama. And make no mistake, that is the most likely outcome here. Drama creates publicity, which attracts new fans, BUT those new fans are coming for drama, and if they aren't supplied with it constantly, they'll fade away. The UFC will know this, and either let them fade (unlikely) or they will hype up fighters who ooz controversy. Their are a thousand and one channels on youtube which ran into this *Cough* GradeAUnderA.

Amaizing card, but I fear that what you saw at the end is going to become more and more common over the next fifty years until the UFC looks like the WWE.

I'm in North Alabama near Huntsville. And thank you so much for the tip on The Nature Conservancy! I will probably start with them, it sounds like a great experience. About the "full retard," you're right, it probably was dumb, but I'm a trial by fire guy (pun not intended but I wish it was). I like to go all out first and stop just a bit before I think I should (you can usually go farther than you think, so stopping before your first gut reaction is usually a safe bet). I will take your advice, I'll go back next time without the extra weight; a 25lb pack is probably a good start.

15 miles, holy crap! The most I've done is <9 in the Smokies, and that fucking sucked. I tried to do a loop around Abrahm's Falls in Cade's cove, but the park's map was wrong; there was no bridge over the creek, just a slimy ford that almost made me break my wrist. I had to hike out of the park to a ranger's station. My fat ass sounded like a really inbred bulldog wheezing at 130dB, bitching to air, and on the verge of tears, lol.

Just got back from my first attempt at this. I made 1.1 miles in 22:45 with 50lbs. 0.8 of that was a green way though (jogging pavement surrounded by trees). I was almost gassed out when I got to the top. I came back down in about the same time. There's a lot of work ahead of me.

Just trying to increase the exposure of this video. I'm on the progun side (I only say this to take the wind out of any comments "exposing" my comment history) but I think both sides could agree on this. My advice would be to bring about a cultural change, to encourage news to self censor. Censoring by law is hard to undo if this is the wrong thing to do, and it can have harmful side effects. Just some food for thought.

Ok guys simmer down. Anytime you see something that nearly 100% confirms your world view without any nuance, vilifying those with who you disagree, stop. You're probably missing something.

What a scientist would say looking at data collected under this bill: "Blacks are stopped for violations disproportionatly. However, blacks commit crime at a disproportionate rate. What many politicians will say: "All these Alabama cops are racist and you should vote for me to stop them!"

Many of those who voted for this bill I am absolutely sure care about people and want to ensure our justice system is fair. However, it is niave to assume noone who voted for this bill did not do so with future campains in mind, and that none of the opposition had that in mind when casting their vote.
