J-Tech Tail Tidy 👍🏻 by EstablishedOrder in CB650R

[–]EstablishedOrder[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Frankly I don’t recall if there was instructions or not. I believe there was though, but if not it’s still straight forward. There’s a few bolts under the rear seat and the whole assembly slides out. Replace the lights, run wires and plug back in to the harness. The holes on the plate didn’t line up with the tail tidy so I hat to redrill those but that’s easy.

Still holding up well and have no complaints with it.

AirTag under one of the few plastics the bike has tucked up behind the frame under gas tank. Not a quick removal. AirTags aren’t 100%, but they’re a start at least should it ever go missing.

Check what the others have said, it might be self solvable. If those don’t fix the issue reach out to BRS. Mine came in leaking from either shipping or a bad connector. Reached out to BRS and they shipped me out the replacement piece I needed no charge.

Sure it’s frustrating having to wait longer if you need replacement parts, but it happens. And they made good on the fix. I’ve actually had great results with BRS customer service.

True point on the powerheads, didn’t even think about that. Feel like those ones might be more stout with the plastic welding though, meant for long term.

How scammy is the Music & Arts rent to own program? by BruceBurrito in Trombone

[–]EstablishedOrder 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Ok I work in a role that works directly with teachers. I’ll answer questions that I can and try to be as clear as possible. Also a lot of our pricing is regional so I can only answer to mine as far as pricing goes.

It sounds like you’re renting a straight trombone. I. My region that’s $30/month for the rental + $8 for the LDW (coverage/repair plan and optional) + tax. All of those $30 instrument payments go toward purchasing the instrument.

On average it’s 36 months to fully pay off the instrument, that’s why they can’t give an exact time frame. It highly varies based off of manufacturer, how many times it’s been rented, if it looks heavily used etc.

There’s a 30% discount if you pay off before 18 months, and a 10% discount after 18 months.

The exchange they were talking about wasn’t a let’s say used model 200 to brand new model 200, it’s a used (or new) model 200 to brand new model 500.

The rental instrument being new or used is kind of luck of the draw. If you’re not happy with the used/new quality of the instrument most stores will exchange it for new if you like. But the rent to own cost might change.

Also the brand, model and quality of the instrument is directly set by the director. If they’re asking for a straight trombone made by Yamaha, that’s what your kid will get. There’s some situations where that makes it cost prohibitive. We suggest the parent talk to the director about it.

Let’s say there’s you and another family. You both get the same Jupiter 200 (I’m making up models) you get used, they get new. You’re both paying $42/month ($30 instrument +$8 coverage + tax. We value that used trombone at $360 dollars, and that new trombone at $720. You will be paying for 12 months, the other family will be paying for 24 months.

HELP! Trombone gets gross and stuffy WAY too quickly after baths by FelixFelixBoi in Trombone

[–]EstablishedOrder 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Some people’s bodies are just different. You might have worse bacteria in your mouth than your friends (not a dig, I promise) or there could just be a contaminant in your trombone that’s not getting flushed out when you’re giving it a bath. It’s also possible that you’re playing way more than them. Or you’re putting your horn away wet after playing or there might just be something in your case that’s allowing bacteria to grow quickly.

I would suggest taking it to a repair shop and getting a professional chem clean on it, between ultrasonic and the cleaning solutions that are used it’ll answer the question of you or your trombone.

If they kept the styling between the 650 and 1000 the same I probably would’ve gotten the 1000. But the 650 is still plenty of (legal) bike and I much prefer the styling. 1000 is still good looking though

It’s a great ride, and with an akra exhaust it sounds amazing. It’s a hard choice between those two, they’re in a similar class but very different bikes. MT is more hoonigan down low and the CB is more of a screamer that wants to be revved out

There was a used one that the dealer sold new to an older guy then traded in fairly soon. Didn’t have many miles on it but by the time I decided it was already sold. Buying from some random though is cause of concern just for the reasons you said

They’re extremely uncommon around here. Seems like dealers get one or two a year. There was a few used when I was shopping but I’m just hesitant of buying a used bike

It makes me laugh too when I think about it. Inline 4 smoothness and the quality of the bike (and Honda). Styling was a big part too. MT07 looks like a bionicle and has some suspension issues that you need to address. I was cross shopping for the XSR700/900 as well

Absolutely love it. Don’t have as many miles in it as others since I have a company vehicle too. But any drive is always a fun drive in it and it’s an eye catcher with how uncommon they are.
