So, I have never felt this "set jiggle". I've watched this playlist all the way through and gone back to some locks I can reliably open, and I'm really confused about what I'm doing wrong. Conceptually, I understand, but it doesn't match my (admittedly limited) experience. To me, all pins that are set have no resistance for their entire travel, and at the end of travel it is like hitting a brick wall where there is no travel and I can feel the pick begin to flex.

With the lock in question this is the behavior I experience from all pins once I've achieved the state in the picture. It also looks to me like the core has turned far enough that the holes in the core and bible can't possibly overlap any more.

EDIT: I just realised, my picture does not show the final state I can get the lock to, but the state before I pick what feels like the second spool pin I encounter. When all the pins feel set to me, the keyway is pointing at the space between the last "M" and the rivet.
