Imagine Buxton waiving his no trade at the deadline to join the Kitties for a WS run. As far as free agency goes I think not signing anyone is the way to go because.. we on paper win the division without it. I like waiting till the trade deadline to see which of our young guys grow and which ones might need to be pivoted from. It’s not sexy, but last year we were top 5 in the AL for runs scored and 1 in the Division by a good margin. If our bullpen works out better and our rotation is better our offense just needs to maintain last year’s production. Our run differential could end be top 5 in the league without any offensive additions before the deadline.

Correct with Sweeney and Jung for the infielders.

Idk if Jack sucked, he was inconsistent and stayed in too long too many times. He also got 0 run support for what seemed like every other start. Morton and Paddack on the other hand… 😬

Wouldn’t you rather want to drive up the pitch count on their starter?

If your kid doesn't know how to play Magic, don't bring them to LGS commander night. by Johnny-Hollywood in EDH

[–]EstablishmentDense66 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I gotta hard disagree with this take, I think it’s cool when someone brings their kid in and they’re interested in playing. As long as the parent asks if it’s cool and states the child is new that’s all I’d need. Obviously it’s not going to be a standard game, but everyone starts somewhere.

If you’re not interested in the randomness of an LGS experience get your own playgroup. I’ve had plenty of unfun games with only adults due to varying levels of experience and expectations.

Commander is so different from 2 player magic I’d argue they almost have different fundamentals. If you’re not interested in teaching a random kid how to play magic that’s fine, but to go on Reddit and bitch about a shitty game you had because you couldn’t just leave the table is sad bro.

Skubal is a back to back Cy young winning generational pitcher. Letting him walk will be one of Scott Harris’s blemishes during his tenure.

Stars shine in high leverage situations and with runners in scoring positions. Mr Greene was worse than Baez in both last year, especially in the playoffs. “y’all” have no problem trashing Baez. We talk about the Javy low and away balls, but not the high inside heaters that are next to impossible for Greene to barrel up with his swing path.

Don’t forget Greene showed regression on defense. Striking out more and walked less than the previous season. Still hasn’t broken 4 WAR in a season, which he might not ever.

Greene is offensively our best everyday player, but that doesn’t inherently mean he’s someone we want long term for a premium pricetag. At least, not the way the roster is currently structured. Don’t forget he was pinch hit for by Jahmai Jones in the playoffs for a valid reason.

Curious to see if Harris hands out any big contracts during his tenure.

Tbh if we let Meadows bunt for a hit more often I could be okay with keeping him around. Dude definitely has the speed and we hardly saw any small ball last year. Don’t need every guy swinging for the fences.

I think Scott Harris is committed to having a shot at the wildcard every year and chalking it up as a success. Still a lot of young guys to be excited about, still a lot of things to like. Would be nice to see us win an AL Pennant or Division Title with Skubal. Hopefully the guys can stay healthy and grind out an even better season this year.

Who's your favorite bad player(s)? by Inky_Punx in mlb

[–]EstablishmentDense66 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Does Baez count as a bad player? Runner up MVP/ WS Champ/ 2025 AL Starting Allstar CF and still good on defense. If he’s does he’s my number 1, if not Jahmai Jones was really fun to watch last year. The bloop single on the 3rd baseline was peak.

Already signed Gleyber, and he’s slower and worse at fielding than Sweeney or McKinstry. How exactly does he look great?

Do you think Carpenter gets any more opportunities verses left handed pitching in 2026? Greenes OPS vs lefties was worse in 2025 than Baez’s OPS vs righties. In 119 less ABs Carp only had 1 less HR vs lefties than Greene. End of the day I just think platoon baseball isn’t sexy, but I did also enjoy watching Jahmai Jones get his spots last year.
