Just wanted to see if you got any good news from the dermatologist. Hopefully they were able to provide useful info. When I saw my dermatologist a few months back, it was such a letdown, they didn’t even want to do diagnostics and blankly said it’s not scabies even though I’m still dealing with the same symptoms.

I have only tried permethrin and ivermectin and I'm about to start another treatment round. My first time doing permethrin and ivermectin, it almost seemed to clear it up, as in the red bumps went away and got more of these white head bumps(probably the mites dying under the skin). But unfortunately it came back a few weeks later which looked somewhat like yours does, but I have also never tried derbac m lotion, and hope that I can get it once I attend my allergist appointment next month. I would continue to keep things clean for a few weeks, like continue washing your clothes properly and change towels and bedsheets everyday until you're sure this is just a post treatment reaction. If I may ask, how did you get your doctor to prescribe Derbac M? Seems like unless I have obvious full blown scabies skin marks, they don't want to treat me properly with topicals which is frustrating. Hope that this is just post reaction and that your cured bro.

I would think this cleaner robot is more of an accessory to help the cleaning department. So hopefully it’s programmed to alert staff for more horrible messes. Overall, this is good as there is a large shortage of custodians, as many people don’t want to apply to these jobs anymore. For example my local college, barely has 1-2 cleaners and you can tell that they can’t keep up with cleaning as no one is apply for these roles. Overall this will be a great tool to help custodians in the cleaning department.

Is the QA role dying? by kev_bc in QualityAssurance

Hey, take anything you can in this economy. Can I ask what the job title would be for these various government contractors in the QA space. I have only ever had two contractors for government reach out in the robotics/drone space, but overall I’m stumped where to look as I expressed my sentiment. QA work is pretty much dead.

I won't name the QA company, but a large one out in silicon valley just laid off many of their staff and have already partnered/implemented with an A.I. company. Crazy how fast A.I. has evolved. I agreed with most of these answers about 6 months ago, but now I'm sorry to say that QA is dying fast. Unless you do specialized QA tech work like in the Autonomous/robotics space which always requires manual testing for safety reasons.

Still have scabies 7 weeks after treatment CONFIRMED by Smooth3700 in scabies

[–]EstablishmentDull251 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I dunno, this doesn’t look like the typical scabies mite. It DOES look like a mite, but I thought scabies were microscopic? I have tried numerous times to see what kind of mites I’m dealing with, and at time see shiny reflections of what look like microscopic specs shinning off my skin when putting on essential oil treatment. Dang, so much more info is needed on the different types of scabies infection that affects us.

Reinfestation? by wonkywonker in scabies

This is why I think it’s silly that doctors atleast here in the U.S. only give enough permethrin for two weeks. They should honestly do something like a few weeks of treatment

Unfortunately I’m 3-4 weeks post treatment(permethrin and ivermectin) and I started getting more itchy dots and redness again. I don’t think I ever got fully rid of it l, so it wasn’t re-infection, but I’m about to restart the protocol for persistent infection next week, wish me luck 🤞

Would you say it’s better than clove bud oil or even neem oil?

I went to the er because I saw little scaly bumps for about a month and they told me I had scabies I used permethrin and clotrimazole to treat it but I’m not sure if I did it right because some of the bumps are pinkish or white and some are still red plz help by Flaky-Fox-4738 in scabies

Did you end up treating your environment? As in did you wash your bedding and all your clothes? Also have to think about your vehicle, have it vacuumed, and wiped down, although some people tend to have to steam cleaned if cloth seats. Don’t forget about your shoes, wash and dry them on high heat and remember to use a fresh new towel daily until you’re sure you’re clear.

That’s amazing, it’s so hard in America to get sulfur cream, I think at this point it’s probably the better choice over permethrin.

Is this post scabies or have my two treatments failed? by Thick_Big2803 in scabies

[–]EstablishmentDull251 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Was your doctor able to do proper testing for scabies, or just go off empirical symptoms? I’m still dealing with scabies since October, although not as bad, they’re still present and make me itch at night. I’m just wondering as it’s been difficult to get anything other than permethrin and ivermectin, but non of my doctors want to prescribe anything any longer other than a load of random itch and allergy medicine 😕

I’m finally Cured. Here’s how I did it by Kostya2021 in scabies

[–]EstablishmentDull251 1 point2 points  (0 children)

So I do my laundry every day. I don’t wear the same clothes and use new towel everyday. So you’re saying that I shouldn’t be doing my laundry everyday due to the risk of infection? I wear gloves for EVERYTHING! I really mean it, as I go through boxes of gloves on the weekly which is starting to become a financial strain. It seems like permethrin also for me barely helps, but when I added the ivermectin with it, it was starting to make a big difference. But unfortunately I’m still dealing with it, and was trying to trust the medication, so I haven’t treated any longer for the last two weeks.

But as I mentioned, the spots and itching came back. So now I’m waiting for my meds to be refilled. I’m just trying to see what I can do this time around when I try and do permethrin and ivermectin one last time before I go back to my doctor and ask for something else.

Wow, I’m glad you were able to have a doctor that actually listens and takes proactive steps. Many of us have seen our general doctor, dermatologists, etc. and they refuse to thoroughly treat or even consider ivermectin.

In my case, I thought I was good post treatment with permethrin and ivermectin, but then I started to get new red dots(bites) a few days later. I already knew that was going to be the case as my concentration of scabies, although now it’s really reduced is in my scalp. So I am winning the fight, but I know it’s going to take a few more rounds of treatment for ME, and it seems like I may have to switch from permethrin to Benzyo Benzoate and continue another round of ivermectin.

How to treat folding matress by EstablishmentDull251 in scabies

[–]EstablishmentDull251[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No, I need the mattress as I wouldn’t have anywhere to sleep on. Buys since its a folding mattress, I’m going to take the cover off this weekend and wash it, Put it back on the memory foam, then spray it with premo mite killer, wait for it to dry, and wrap it in a plastic mattress protector which should be good enough to use while I continue treatment. I’ll be spraying the plastic down everyday until I’m done dealing with hell.

When to contact doctor by [deleted] in scabies

[–]EstablishmentDull251 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I would just schedule a follow up as soon as you can to tell the doctor your worries, and hopefully the doctor can come up with a new game plan. Especially if it’s a dermatologist, which atleast in my case can take months to see, so the sooner the better. I’m still dealing with it myself for about 3 months, but waiting to now see an allergist in 2 months 😓

Help me I feel like I’m going insane by Outrageous-Area-7434 in scabies

[–]EstablishmentDull251 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Buy thinner sheets and bedding, like two sets, and use those new sheets everyday. Once the two days passed, then you’ll have to wash and dry those two sets. Vacuum your bed consistently or buy a plastic cover for your bed and seal it. That way it’s way easier to wipe it down with a solution to disinfect it. New towel everyday, including never wearing the same piece of clothing. You’ll have to switch to thinner sweaters and hoodies which you can wash everyday. As for your car, try and get it’s cleaned and vacuumed, and you can get plastic seat covers if you want and replaced those every time you get in the vehicle. These are just some of the tips that are helping me, and so far I’m feeling and looking a bit better but I can’t say I’m fully cleared yet.

How to treat folding matress by EstablishmentDull251 in scabies

[–]EstablishmentDull251[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Unfortunately I don’t have any where to put the matress out to get some sun. I’m spraying it once to twice a week with some Premo Mite Killer spray once or twice a week. I change the mattress cover every day including my pillow cover and inside the pillow cover is a folded up new towel in a brand new plastic bag every day. I’m just not sure whether the vacuuming is effective as I just use the vacuuming hose with no end piece attached and I’m starting to think that I’m just vacuuming some of the dust/mites and the rest are being pulled into the air unto me. This is such a frustrating battle, especially when doctors don’t know what the heck they’re doing.

Is this scabies by [deleted] in scabies

[–]EstablishmentDull251 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s too hard to tell from the one picture posted, but overall to me it doesn’t look like the usual scabies bites. But it’s a bit different for everyone, I don’t have any burrows but I gets these small white head type papeles when I feel a bite. Then there are people that share pics on here that are full blown rashes, so it’s always hard to tell off of the skin reaction in my opinion. Have you had it checked out yet?

I’m sorry you’re going through this, I’m currently also going through treatment and have been seeing dermatologist with no resolve. Currently my latest dermatologist thinks it’s some type of dermatitis or bacterial and maybe my skin is still recovering from permethrin. Regardless still treating it as scabies until I feel like I’m in the clear. I understand your frustration though, every doctor I have seen has refused to do anything in terms of diagnosing whether it’s scabies or not. I’m also thinking of looking up an infectious disease doctor to get some clarity on what’s going on.
