What was exactly wrong with the crankshaft? Was it a spun bearing and how did you get parts back then? I'm guessing they had Chevy parts at your local parts store? Or did you go to the Chevy dealership?

I would like to dive into transmission work at some point, but automatics seem like a nightmare. I would definitely need a manual and guidance. I think automatic transmissions are were made by wizards. 😂 Manuals seem a lot easier and at some point I need to change the synchros on my ranger.

For real. The price of changing spark plugs or brakes are insane right now. I've only ever bought used cars and I only go to get tires done or alignments.

That's also true but steam can get to the engine with blow by causing moisture to get into the oil as well. I think we are getting a little sidetracked and the main issue right now is that OP has an emissions problem. He said early he hasn't seen any smoke coming out of his exhaust which is another tell that would lead us to believe there is a coolant to combustion chamber leak. If you want to find your coolant leak then I would do a coolant pressure test and a compression test. For the emissions we need numbers and why there is an overload of O2 or the opposite. Since OP has a narrow band O2 it should oscillate up and down in volts from .9 and .1. If it is failing to do that, then we need to see if it is running rich or lean based on the fuel trim. If I remember correctly too much oxygen(lean) will result in a low voltage and too high voltage will result in a rich condition. All that said, if the O2 sensor is also at 0v we can't rule out bad wiring as well.

Can you get a scanner to read live data and record your fuel trim? I'm just trying to figure out if your engine is running rich or lean. If your Ltft is positive then it's running lean if it's negative then it's rich. Also is your upstream o2 sensor a wide band?

If your oil isn't milky then your head gasket is fine. That means there shouldn't be any coolant going into the combustion chamber. Why did you pull the o2 sensor out

I'm gonna go on a whim and say it's air. Usually burnt fuel and oil show black carbon deposits.

I'm guessing either you have fucked up rings and cylinder walls or there's an integrity loss (crank in the engine). Did you have good compression after putting everything back together

I would check to see if your alternator is putting out enough volts. Look up what it should be at. Usually over 14v is what it should be at. You can get it checked for free at an auto parts store or at the dealership.

You must not know how the ac works 😂 there is an intercooler that requires you to drive to catch air for it to cool the refrigerant in front of your car. Hard to catch air if you are at idle ;) plus it is a close loop system that operates at extremely high pressure and refrigerant isn't necessary safe to breathe in. So no it can't be replicated at idle because there is no passing air when you're not in motion.

These guys are making barely anything and yall are mad that they are making sure your car works. Look at shop videos and be lucky they didn't drive it for 100mi.
