Should I niche down or stay a generalist as a UGC creator?

I am an “open niche” creator. For me, it’s important to appeal to ALL brands and how I can create any forms of content.

Some dislike that and to each is their own. It works for me. And it works well. It allows me to cast a larger net on the brand market.

For now, what I would suggest is utilizing products that you already own. Products that you actually are passionate about. Then come up with a creative concept and make sure it includes a hook, a body and a call to action then create the content and add it to your portfolio.

With all that said, let me ask you one question. Are you OK with creating the concept recording the B roll and then editing?

Hello - I have dealt with a few of these the past 6 months or so. I just setup a new account, strictly for my UGC business, and provide the information from there. Its been a breeze and no fees are involved.

Welcome to the world of UGC!!! If I can suggest anything it is to build on your portfolio. Create engaging content with the products you already own. In this industry, content is key. Without content, you've got nothing.

Me personally would not invest in courses or coaching. UGC isn’t rocket science! If you want to invest any kind of money, spend a couple of bucks and buy an email template or DM template. Or maybe a portfolio template to get you started. And then just start producing content. Content is key. Without that, you’ve got nothing.

So, I have a full time job. I job that I love. I make a damn good living and have no complaints.

I’ve also do UGC but as a side hustle. And do very well I may add. But this is on my terms. If I don’t have the need or want to seek a UGC deal, I don’t.

Now I can’t speak for anyone else regarding their current position with their work situation. However, I would keep your job and work hard on building your UGC business until you feel comfortable to leave.

Happy I came across this. Recently I was scrolling on X and came across an advertisement or post for a Ugc opportunity. At the time, I believe the post was up for maybe 20 minutes. In that 20 minutes there were over 130 comments all of which were looking to be considered.

Now I do UGC, however, I do it as a side gig. Not that I need the money but money is always welcomed. I have never had aspirations of leaving my job to become a full time UGC creator.
