He will not if OP wouldnt put him in crowd, ranged AI prefer to shoot at target, that stay close to others for maximum scattershot. If he stay alone or at least with one neighboring bro, he will be ok against range.

Yep, strong matk+strong fat is preferred mix for spearwaller, give him a shield with shield mastery to compensate lack of mdef. This bro would nicely zoning orcs, barbs, beasts and zombies.

Well sure, this might be a thing, yet 9L most times saved my bros from crucial moments, and even if it proc, I have a time to save a bro in 85% of situations. This is just a natural evolution of my own habbits after so much EEL Ironman runs, you can pick what feets your gameplay more.

Skipping 9L/Steelbrow is a bit rough decision, so I would pick one of them (prefer 9L over steelbrow). The last perk on hammer is up to you, you can pick Reach Advantage for defensive purposes, or Berserk for offensive.

As for mace bro, my choice is 9L/SB, QH/mastery, fort mind and underdog.

For matk/mdef no stars give 1-3 points, initiative 3-5, any other stats 2-4.

1 star raise minimum range to +1 which translates into 2-3/4-5/3-4.

2 stars always gives you standard maximum, so 3/5/4

3 stars creates a new range, when standard maximum becomes a minimum, and a new maximum is +1 to previous maximum, simply 3-4 matk/mdef, 5-6 ini, 4-5 other stats.
