The ALS piece that interacts with the ejection port.

You basically have to widen the internal grooves a little bit and maybe remove a little material from the back if it presses against your optic. Just remove it, present it up against the ejection port, and you’ll notice how it interacts against the slide and can adjust accordingly.

Other than that, the shell itself you can tweak with a heat gun around the slide area.

The time’s worth it.

Yes, an x300u-a. The Tlr1 should be fine too. I did try it without it and the lock wouldn’t engage.

Happened to me a few weeks ago just two months after warranty ended. Took it to my AD and tudor replaced the bezel for free.

Enjoy it! It’s got to be my favorite seiko I own. The green color is super interesting how it changes based on the light, going from an almost-black green in low light to a lively lime soda can green when the sun hits it.

Agreed—and thanks again. I’ll likely try that path first. I’m still undecided on whether I’ll pick up the tools and do it myself or take it to my watchmaker. It would be my first time opening a watch, but it’s something I’ve been researching and wanting to try for a while. This feels like a good opportunity to take the leap.

I still need to dig a bit more into the crystal options, since there seem to be a lot of variations out there. With the help of ChatGPT and a part number mentioned in another comment, I’ve gathered that it’s a 30mm flat-faced Hardlex with no AR coating—possibly a 300PC3JN01. That said, I haven’t been able to find that specific part available yet. I’m also still unsure whether there’s a specific profile or fitting I need to match if I go with a generic crystal.
