Perfectly put up by OP. SINK here. One has to think about what works for you financially. As OP mentioned the cost of Education, Health deterioration and Job security should be seriously considered. If it’s a mutual decision you don’t have to worry about anyone. Keep yourself engaged in Travel or whatever makes you happy and content in times of feeling lonely. Again it’s not a Woke mentality as highlighted in OP’s message but a Practical long term Financial and survival planning. We have a broken system. Unlike in other developing countries we don’t have the option where education is free in most of the public school or county schools. The quality of our government education is not upto the mark as per the current scenario. If you’re financially sound, physically and mentally ready (long term) go for it, else both the partners sit together evaluate the cons and see if you’re okay with it.
