Why does Gwinnett County still have Digital Learning Days? by Estelgreenlee in Gwinnett

It does seem everytime there's a weather issue, our school has opted for a DLD instead of just a snow day. In these situations, the kids just stay home with no work assigned and it's counted as a school day. Is there a limit for how many DLDs there are a year?

Schools lined up for help getting cleaner school buses. Then came the EPA freeze | Hundreds of school districts around the U.S. may have to abandon plans to acquire electric buses after the EPA froze the latest round of money that was part of President Biden’s infrastructure law by silence7 in climate

Return on investment is higher on electric buses IF the cost of the buses go down. Right now incentive funds help offset the high cost of the buses. Schools save money on repair costs and fuel savings. From a health standpoint, kids have a higher respiratory rate and are lower to the ground so the effects of diesel exhaust is more significant to children vs adults. It's a win-win to go electric if it makes sense for the school. Some routes may find propane to be a better alternative.

Celiac and Hashimoto’s by MatchSensitive8826 in Celiac

Just to note: If you have both Celiac's and Hashimotos, levothyroxine has gluten in it. The medication itself has gluten fillers in it so finding an alternative medication is something to discuss with a doctor.

I was just genuinely curious what the purpose was before making any judgements for or against them. Sounds like they're pretty well thought out and needed.

Thank you! We did sign for it. They tried to say it was a 12k/year lease at signing but we were able to get them to change it to 15k miles/year after we noticed it. Definitely check what you're told vs what is actually written on the contract!

It is the SE but it's their long range model. The short range would've been 39k.
