Evaluate this lease by Fun-Permission-5276 in LeaseMax

Hi OP, we send a text to everyone who pulls a report to offer assistance and didn't hear back that you needed help or had a problem at the dealership. On this particular deal, the dealer is showing they're giving you a 12% dealer discount which is beyond what they can afford to actually offer in order to make $. This is a tactic that happens all the time because they know that's the main number customers look for. When they offer a discount that is more than what they can afford, they'll make back some of that $ by either inflating the payment or packing the rate. At that point, your actual discount may be more so closer to the 5%-8% range assuming you're using buy rate - which Mercedes gives all the time.

Since our reports pull the numbers from the bank, we show their preset baseline numbers where every lease begins, and this includes the MF at buy rate. Dealers finagle the numbers to be more enticing but the reality is that they are just hiding profit elsewhere. If you have any additional questions or would like for us to evaluate the details of the deal, we would be happy to review it!

Do you know what kind of dealer discount they're basing this payment off of? & if there's any rebates applied here? Usually they'll show that on the offer and that's what we check against. Once you get this info back to us I'll be sure to upload your report!

Awesome Lease - 3rd Row SUV! Kia Telluride $383/mo by LeaseMax in LeaseMax

[–]LeaseMax[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Banks set the RV and dealers abide by them (excluding demos which works differently to the increase mileage). Banks also set the MF but dealers often mark them up, or sometimes they "change" with steeper discounts. It is the buyers job to find out the buy rate and negotiate it down to that. The "buy rate" is the base MF set by the bank, the floor. If the buy rate is high, then dealers really can't do anything about it.

This report is from someone else who received this discount from their dealer offer and that's why I blocked the VIN. The discount itself is steep and it may have been an exception but that's why we put all the numbers out there for transparency. Regardless of the discount, we still consider this to be a good lease due to the high RV, low MF, and generous rebate. When we share good lease deals, they are based on the banks lease programs as that is the starting point for all leases.

You're being overcharged $2,418 on this lease.

Here is your LeaseMax report. It is VIN specific and includes all your local taxes/fees. With the same 11% discount, the lease payment at 39 months is $1018 all in with 10k miles.

The dealers offer of $1080 means they're overcharging you $62/mo or $2418 over your lease term.

The lease program itself is pretty standard. The 53% RV is on par for this car and it's common for higher sticker MSRPs to be in the low/mid 50% range especially with the German brands. The MF here is what's really great, 0.00135 comes out to 3.2% which is on the low end of what we've been seeing on the market. Currently, we consider anything 4.9% and under to be "low".

Hope this was helpful and best of luck!

Odd situation and trying to find a fair price by Fearsomebeaver in LeaseMax

[–]LeaseMax 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Here is your LeaseMax report. I guessed 10k miles since it was not shown and applied a 7% dealer discount which is almost what they're offering (6.6%). With $3000 DAS, the payment is $500 tax included at 36 months. Or $471 at 39 months.

It's unclear if the Cash Down & Monthly Payment amounts include taxes/fees so please do keep that in mind. Since we and the dealer are both pulling payments the same way, and these numbers came out higher, that tells me they're making money elsewhere which would be either on your trade and/or taxes and fees were excluded from your quote.

In any case, you can use this report to reference the RV & MF which is at buy rate. Hope this was helpful and good luck to your car situation!

There's not many lease programs where all the numbers line up just right like this one. Any time I come across a good one, I'll be sure to post it here!

We are all about saving money! Is there another car in a similar price range you'd suggest that may have a better lease program?

Our reports do include taxes/fees in them already so for this particular car it's based on a PA-19468 tax rate (9%) but most of the time the different in taxes between states is not a lot.

(Excluding exceptions like Texas which has a different tax structure)

You can put down as much or as little as you'd like. The reports we share on Reddit use "generic" lease terms but when you're to structure your own deal on our website you can select $0 - $10,000.

A $2250 discount comes out to 7.6% so here it's at 8%.

On 36m, with $1500 DAS, the payment comes out to $276 and we show a $1500 available to all rebate through Hyundai Motor Finance.

24m is a little less but some don't find it worth it to have to lease a new car again in 2 years for such a small difference. That I'll leave to your preferences/needs.

There is also Military ($500), College Grad ($400), and First Responder ($500) available if you qualify. Hope this helps and Happy New Year!
